So at check in I noticed the room needs alot of updating. It had a smell the carpet has alot of stains and like an hour later we noticed roaches in the bathroom. We had to pack everything up and pick everything up off the floor to make sure we didn't take any back with us. Needless to say I've stayed in alot of hotels and this is the worst experience I've ever had. I figured for as much as the room cost it should be semi decent. Not the case.

FABULOUS customer service
Staff was out of this world friendly and helpful. I have not seen this kind of customer services in years :) The most enjoyable stay in any hotel i've been in, in many years as well.. I will be staying here again and again when i'm in town.

All of the employees were so friendly and welcoming. This hotel was extremely clean and organized. Our room was well appointed but the furniture was scratched and there were handles missing on the drawers. Breakfast was nice: egg and cheese omelette, bacon/sausage, potatoes, fruit, yogurt, cereal, boiled eggs, toast, bagels, and a pancake machine. In-line the waffle machine, the pancakes cook very quickly. You receive 2 in under a minute. Overall good experience.

Palestine Holiday Inn Express
The overall cleanliness was not as other Holiday Inn Express locations. There were cockroaches in the room. The overall hotel had a rundown feel.

After staying at an IHG property in New Braunfels, which had a spacious room and restaurant quality food, we were very disappointed with the IHG hotel in Palestine. The room was clean but cramped, and the breakfast was terrible (eggs burnt, sausage appeared undercooked, oatmeal watery). This property needs an update!

First thing the clerk says is there is a $50 pet deposit nonrefundable. Not one word about that on the website. Then she charges my card for the room and pet charge! After I paid expedia. She says its been removed. I'll make sure before we leave in the morning. Palestine, TX will not be visited again by us.
