The water heater works! but if we get enormous wind very rarely as you did; it might blow the pilot out. The water heater is outside in a sealed room with vents. If anybody calls us which this guest did not; we have our maintenance man who lives across the road can light it immediately. Sorry that we did not get any call form this guest that the pilot went out due to heavy wind.

We block it off so we can keep the rates low for all levels of budgets of guests' can use our beach house. If guest cannot pay the additional 55 fee, the house can still be utilized by them for "equity". For non-holiday stays from November through February there is no extra charge for this 4th bathroom and it is for everybody to use at no cost.

Our guests kids play outside on the public beach all the time! This beach area has many travelers staying there year round. As stated by this guest they were at the house during one of the worst atmospheric rivers California has ever experienced and thus the chairs, umbrellas, loungers all looked pretty wet and tattered from the incredible wind and storm. Immediately after this storm the chairs, umbrellas, loungers were either cleaned or replaced.

I am sorry that you got that experience, it is always our goal for our guests to have the best stay possible. The beach tar is not often but comes and goes as it is a natural. We have finally finished the 3rd floor bathroom so now the upper floor comes included with a hot tub with ocean view, 3 head shower and Sink, all in Carrera marble surfaces.

We enjoyed our vacation and would stay again." We checked the beach chairs and all of them operate and the seats and backs are made out of fabric. We did throw one of the operable chairs (with fabric back and seat) away that had rust on the metal that was not satisfaction.

Thank you for stating "Beach access good". The seat on the porch was immediately repaired the day you vacated the house. The toys were inspected as soon as we got this review and found to be used by the guest's kids and operable for sand toys. We advertise no central air conditioner as most every house at the beach in Oxnard does not have A/C as the cool coastal breezes are good for everybody. We do supply many fans and there is forced air circulation on the house system that this guest did not bother to contact us about. We are sorry that the hottest day of the century occurred during this guest's stay. Most every window has screens, but as this reviewer mentioned the openable doors do not have screens. This is a residential area not a commercial hotel zone; so yes we take extra concern for our neighbors (especially after 10 pm) just as normal people would be with their residential at home neighbors. Yes this is a beach just like every beach in Southern California that has waves for surfing and soft waves for kids to play in. This beach is very suited for kid friendly fun.

As clearly described in all listings: We as a benefit only include an additional toilet room in the Master bedroom. If guests want or feel it is necessary on the 3rd floor to have an additional Carrara marble shower that has separate tub with a sink; then we can offer them on the 3rd floor for an additional fee. The fee is necessary thou because of the extra additional utilities costs to operate the heated tub. Deck furniture gets replaced of cleaned every spring for the upcoming peak season which this guest did not get to utilize.

We are sorry that Felicia did not enjoy her stay and that she expected more than what the price is for what she had paid. Every guest we have hosted, all love the location of the house, Silver Strand Beach. Silver Strand is a big beautiful, uncrowded sandy beach. It is a big sandy beach that kids can run, play around and a big sandy beach for family gatherings. Yes, it is a bit of walk over beach sand to be in the water, and sand is harder to walk on than pavement; so that is why Felica may said (a big drop??), but everyone loves it & the beach. Felicia's review pretty much said that every ocean front house at Silver Strand Beach has too much sand far from the ocean, how ridiculous was that. We took the house pictures that are posted on Vrbo's website ourselves; because we want them to be exactly of how the house actually looks. We did not use a professional photographer to make the pictures look better than the real house. Our past guests always said the house looks exactly like the pictures because they are the exact pictures with no touch ups. Yes, the house was built in late '80, it is not a newly built house. With three stories, it is great for family gatherings, clean, simple, and comfortable. The beach can be windy at times; we send our maintenance guy to hose down the beach level deck thinking it would be nice to keep the deck clean for guests. Felicia did not appreciate it. She never let us know. She could have called or texted to let us know; then we would have cancelled the service. As easy as that. Also the sand that is watered is not part of the property and is part of the public beach. We do have high consideration for our neighbors. It is important to be good neighbors no matter if at your own home or when you rent a house for a vacation. We had past guests who unintentionally drove into neighbors' driveways and blocked their driveways.. We must ask and warn our guests prior to their arrival to act as good neighbors. No one wants stranger to go into their properties. Nothing is wrong for trying to be good neighbors. Felicia should understand and respect our neighbors, and everyone gets these few consideration rules more than 2 months before they arrive; and thus can cancel when they get them if the guest do not want to comply with them and the guest will get a full refund at that time. We take pride in having our prices less than the other comparable Oceanfront houses on Silver Strand Beach; and please look at our competitors and it is easily seen that we are the best priced oceanfront house in Ventura County. We only have 3 longboard (8 footers) surfboards for guests use; two of which are soft as most of guests are beginner surfers and therefore we do not have short boards (less than 7 foot) for their use. Definitely Silver Strand Beach is not for Felicia, but she could understand and respect our sandy beach and neighbors.

Good location The owner is super nice” It is interesting that you felt there was not an enough stocked kitchen, with all of the reviews saying they liked the stocked kitchen. The toys and equipment where bought new, but get used a lot and we do replace them when they break or are not usable anymore. The outlet covers: thank you for bringing that to our attention as the guest immediately previous to yours broke them and during the property manager check out inspection they were not expecting outlets to be broken and didn’t have the opportunity to look at them at the check in and check out inspection. But once again thank you for letting us know and we have replaced them immediately. We have ordered a new dishwasher even thou the existing one works so we do not get anymore false claims about it. The pictures on the advertisement are exactly what the house offers and it is priced accordingly to that; and we are always ensuring and replacing immediately anything that does not work.

Silver Strand Beach is wide open and the views/sounds from the ocean made for a relaxing week. the garage is loaded with fun items." The house is a 5 bedroom, 3 full bathrooms house as advertised. Yes we do offer a small additional toilet on the 3rd floor only as bonus. This is all spelled out in the advertisement; and 3 full bathrooms is all the house offers. The Master bedroom on the 2nd floor does have a full bathroom. The laundry machine works. Our technician was also out on July 6 to do regular maintenance on it. The dishwasher as stated on the machine works best if the guests take the food off the dishes first. Food left on dishes put into the dishwasher have clogged up the dishwasher. Water in the beach area is quite hard and as time goes, the waterline in the dishwasher gets clogged up. We have decided to get a new dishwasher which will be installed in August. At anytime, the property manager Aleyna will help guests operate the large house. Aleyna lives across the street from the house and is available 24/7. Aleyna is the Concierge and Assistant to all guests staying at the house. We hired Aleyna exactly for the reasons this reviewer has addressed; that in such a big house of 3 floors (the appliances, equipment and 6 TV’s) operations, guests will need help in figuring out the intricacy of them. The 2nd floor smart TV does have internet streaming usage, but guests need to access the internet through the connected DVD player next to that TV. Again these things Aleyna instructs guests at check in and she is available 24/7 to help guests with. Also all instructions to the TV’s are in the welcome book on the table. In regards to Amazon Prime on other TVs in the house, it is interesting this reviewer did not try the other TVs, as 2 of the 6 TVs are operated with Amazon's FireTV Stick. All of our guests appreciate this nice house and we always like productive critiques from our guests.

We understand about the pipe removal heavy equipment that occurred at the time of your stay. This pipe on the beach is not there very often at all; as it only comes then goes when the harbor to the north fills up with sand, in which they move the sand out through the pipe to a location about 2 miles away. This pipe is a rare occurrence as it takes a long time of wave energy to fill the harbor with sand.
