“Great location”

2 min walk from the high speed train to the airport. Very convenient. The staff was friendly but not superb customer service. Excellent breakfast spread included with the reasonably priced room. Good quality hotel, no problem with neighborhood noise. Free WiFi. Small room and bathroom of course, but no different from anywhere else in Europe. Overall great experience.

“Would recommend the Thon Hotel Opera location”

I found this hotel on Tripadvisor.com. It was listed as the #1 hotel in Oslo. The location, breakfast, room, staff were all wonderful. I didn't feel that the rate was too much for a nice hotel in a convenient location (next to the central station).

the Thon staff were excellent, the location great foro station, airport and public transport, but at $A 100 for a very ordinary bottle of wine, this is not the place to want to party!

the hotel looks new, with very good location, just next to Oslo central railway station. If you plan to see fjord, it's easier for you to start from here or end here, especially when you are first time to visit Oslo.

Situated right beside Oslo central station easy walking distance to most sights of Oslo. Staff extremely helpful and pleasant. Excellent buffet breakfast also high standard restaurant meals.

If you are arriving by train to the central station in Oslo, or using flytojet from the airport, you could not ask for a better location. The hotel is modern, clean and very comfortable. The breakfast has everything that you could want. It is across the street from the new Opera House with wonderful views of the Oslo fjord. The location is good for starting your tour of Oslo's pedestrian area down Karl Johans Gate. It is not far to the National Gallery and the Royal Palace. If you are going to the harbor at Aker Brygge, go down Radhusgata and you are there. When we left Oslo for Bergen, we left our luggage at the hotel and used our backpacks for a couple of days. We retreived our luggage when we returned for another night.

“Thom Review”

Initially we were not allocated the double room we had booked and had to make additional inquiries in order to be moved (they claimed they hadn't received any information from Expedia, but then moved us when presented with our Expedia booking documents). I also found an old pair of socks under the bed that belonged to a previous occupant. The restaurant waiter was very awkward and despite waiting over 30 minutes seemed determined not to present the dessert menu, which was a poor service.
