Greetings Mr. Simon, I appreciate you letting us know about the shutters over the french doors. I have called a carpenter to repair them. The bathrooms were added to this century old Hotel at a later stage of its life, and we were limited by space, so admittedly they are smaller than your average bathroom in a newer big box Hotel. You were charged for one night of Valet for your car, and the other charge was your elected upgrade to a Suite from a Standard non balcony room. You may have possibly confused this charge. So happy you found the bed comfortable, and overall enjoyed your stay. We hope to see you again soon, and again thank you for your comments. Greetings Sheena,The Hotel sits conveniently in the heart of town, but with that also comes a slight noise factor, and depending on the room type a big difference in the view. The Standard rooms do indeed look over the back of the Hotel but it must be said, are very reasonably priced and still allow you to stay in the midst of the fun. Next time we highly reccomend our beautiful balcony rooms which for a little more, allow you to view Central Park, or the quaint bricklined Park Ave with its many restaurants and shops. Greetings M. David, I appreciate your comments. The Hotel is 101 years old (the oldest operating business in Winter Park, so yes you will have creaky floors, but they are the original hardwood and are beautiful. The Hotel was built for the workers putting in the train line so does sit a little close, but we feel it is part of our charm. Can't tell you how many train spotters we get! On the other hand I hope you let the front desk know of your blocked sink, as this is a quick fix. We do apologize for that. Glad you enjoyed the Hotel and the Staff. That is important to us. Hi Katherine,I sincerely apologize for the TV not working. We found out later that Spectrum were working in the area and temporarily cut off the service but I understand your frustration. Regarding the outlets there are several on the bedside lamps. No need to go behind the bed. Wood bllinds swivel closed, but have a lockswitch on the side to hold them in place when they are open. Quick call to the Front Desk and we would have happily sent somebody up to show you. Please give us another chance next time you are in the area. Greetings Myrthia, I appreciate your review. The Hotel is more than a century old, so the bathrooms had to be added later, hence the small size. We certainly recognize that we are not a big box hotel, but hope you enjoyed the historic charm all the same. The area is indeed fantastic. You can't go wrong with our central location with everything being walkable. High end shops and boutiques, not to mention museums and a boat tour. It is unbeatable as you say.
