“The Good and the Bad”

First of all, i need to say that I'm a single mom, traveling often, with two small kids. I hardly ever hang out or relax in my hotel room, except to sleep/shower. So, if you're the 'relax in the room' type, take this review in stride. The hotel staff was very accommodating, friendly and helpful. I'm very picky and asked for extra towels (brought to my room in 20 mins, which is quicker than luxury hotels I've stayed in). Our room looked neat and clean, but I noticed the edges of the blanket covers were dingy-white....then...we found shoes under the bed that weren't ours (ewww). THAT WAS THE WORST OF IT! We has an issue with the door to our room, which was fixed expeditiously. We received complimentary breakfast for the rest of our trip . Our room location within the hotel was optimal, overlooking the pool area (one of two). My kids (ages5 and 2) LOVED the pool, sand and play area. Pools were heated as stated. Lastly, the hotel location was the BEST! We were right next to Disney, like a 3 minute drive, with an Olive Garden on the corner, Pizza Hut next door, and a 2 mile drive to International Drive, which has all a tourist could wish for!

When to go

Go to Disney anytime the kids are in school! in NY kids are out of school different times then FL. Take advantage of that and plan!

Getting around

Rent a car! My hotel had shuttles toDisney,, but timing kinda sucked. The hotel also rented Hertz cars. The hotel location was amazing, so we drove everywhere because everything was within # miles, and easy to get to.

Must see

Disney, Disney, Disney. Do not do only 1 day in Magic Kingdom - as I did, it's the "first timers mistake" as a park employee stated during my mad dash rush to see everything. Character breakfast at The Polynesian's Ohana restaurant. Characters spent lots of time at our table, followed by a kids and characters parade through the restaurant. The food was good (I'm very picky), and unlimited.

TIP- the character dining was all sold out when I went, BUT the reservation line is open until 10pm every night and people call/change or cancel their reservations, so if you wait too late, keep calling while you're there and might get lucky like us. Also, if you're DYING to get into a character dining meal, and it's booked. You may show up and get seated if you come EARLY EARLY EARLY when they first open, like 7am. Our hotel breakfast waitress also worked at Ohana and told us they sometimes take walk ins. That was my back up plan if the daily phone reservation check in didn't work..but it did!

“First time to Orlando”

We really enjoyed our stay at the Marriot. The facility was upscale, clean, and it had the most comfortable mattress and pillows--better than I have at home. It was located within a short walking distance to many eating places. We also enjoyed Marriotts delicious breakfast buffet most mornings. Courtyard by M provided excellent bus transportation to and from all the Disney parks--exactly what we hoped for. It gets a gold star from me.

“great orlando hotel!”

The location of the hotel was great for our purposes. Central to the Disney Parks and downtown Orlando's convention center. The room was spacious and just what we needed with a small kitchenette!

“Great staff”

The staff is very helpful, and smiley. The bartender is so nice and everyone seemed to be very happy! The perfect startup for your Disney vacation. The room had a small problem with the water (not flushing from the sink) but we actually stayed for only 2 nights and most of the time we were at the Park... so didn't really bothered... but I bet they would have gave me another room, or fix it gladly. The shuttle to the park was on time, and they helped with the shuttle to the airport.

When to go

We thought initially that visiting during the sunday before Memorial day was going to be a madness... but the park opened till 2 A.M., had special fireworks and parades.... so it was worth i after all.

“Wonderful”

This hotel is in a great location. Shuttle was always on time and mixed with the disney shuttles works great. Surrounded by restaurants in walking distance, including a grocery store across the street. Would stay here again in a heart beat.

“Not much for the money”

Easy checkin and checkout. Room seems old and was not very comfortable. We came back from Disney late and had to park three buildings away from where we were staying. Loud music from a nearby bar was annoying at midnight.

“Enjoyed the hotel.”

The hotel was simple and well kept. The elevator near our room was beyond slow.

Disney Village and Downtown Disney as well as the Florida Mall have great shopping and variety in stores.

Must see

Cirque Du Soleil La Nouba in Downtown Disney is amazing and The Blueman Group was also an entertaining show on City Walk.

“It was ok”

The only meal you can get at this hotel is breakfast, which was a bit inconvenient. You can order from surrounding restaurants, but I wouldn't recommend any of them, the few we ordered from were terrible. The room was comfortable enough, clean and the staff was very attentive to our needs. The shuttle bus service was sporatic and even though it was close to Disney, if you missed one bus you had to wait hours for the next.
