“Quality Inn on University Ave. Berkeley, CA”
I had a pleasant enough two-night stay, and the room rate was better than those of other motels in the area. I would stay there again. This property has recently acquired the Quality Inn brand, and is a fairly typical (but slightly nicer) motel by Berkeley standards. The ~30 units on two levels are arranged in a U-shape around a central parking lot (only a dozen spaces or so -- potentially an issue). My unit was tucked into one corner of the property and had a lovely window view of the concrete wall of the adjacent building (about five feet away). The room was relatively small (the king bed occupied almost half of the floor space of the main room), but relatively recently renovated and tastefully furnished. It was equipped with a DishTV unit (free HBO channels) with LCD flatscreen television, a small bureau with refrigerator, microwave, and coffeemaker, and a small writing desk. The bathroom was recently retiled and had just a toilet (ran constantly) and bathtub/shower (did not drain that well); the wash basin was in the main room, but was smacked into by the bathroom door when open. Everything was decently clean, except the tile in the shower stall was black in places, the towels looked a bit dingy and worn, and there were some stains on the bed sheets. The in-room heating/cooling unit worked well (for heat anyway, in December). I didn't try the free wireless internet. Free continental breakfast was okay and consisted of standard fare.
“Good Location for UC Berkeley”
All was mostly fine with our hotel - only real complaint was the thickness of the towels, they were threadbare, too small and one was ripped. Hope they buy new ones in the white sales in January!
“Very good”
Small hotel but with higher standards. Room well appointed and clean. Will definitely come back.
“Great Place!”
The room was lovely, really nicely decorated, great fixtures, comfy bed and pillows. It was small, but who cares? It was cozy and first rate!
“Excellent choice near UC Berkeley”
The convenience of the location was great. Nice places to eat at walking distance. A Trader Joe's less than two blocks away made our stay even better because the room had a small refridgerator and a microwave. Definitly our next stay in Berkeley will have to be there. Oh, and the price was the cheapest around.

“Reasonable place to stay”
Room was a bit small but otherwise nice. Hotel was clean and in good shape. Service was frinedly but hard to contact late at night. Breakfast bar was good.
“Good!”
Good!
“Berkely's Best”
Quality Inn is by far one of the best hotels i've stayed in. The room itself was superb for it price. Not to mention the comfiest bed ever I actually got into the sheets instead of using my own :]. They're accommodations are great and even supply you with razors, toothbrushes, etc upon request. I've never known any other hotel to have a fridge, microwave, iron, and a slew of cable channels to chose from. I was one happy camper.
“Nice hotel for a fair price”
Nice, decent and clean hotel. If you don't want an expensive hotel in San Francisco, this hotel is good to travel to San Francisco for a good price.
