“Lovely hotel”
The hotel was very clean and welcoming, the staff very helpful and friendly, I would book into this hotle again. The hotel was nice and quiet nothing was to much trouble for them
“an excellent place to stay”
the hotel was clean, well appointed and very good value for money. the room was warm, clean and quiet the reception was quick and very friendly the breakfast was tasty and well presented we were very pleased and would recommend this hotel
“Decent Norwich Hotel”
This was a reasonable place to stay outside the city of Norwich. The rooms were clean & comfortable & the staff was helpful. The only drawback was the chaotic weekend breakfast buffet (included in the room rate). The kitchen staff couldn't keep up with the demand, running out of eggs, plates, etc. Other than this, we had a nice stay.
“P & G from Sunshine Coast, Australia”
friendly staff in all areas made us feel welcome. We had to remind ourselves this was the UK where absolutely nothing is for nothing. Internet connections are extraordinarily expensive in all UK hotels but this was mitigated by the help and efficiency of all the folk working at this hotel. Good location for exploring Norfolk and Norwich although they did seem surprised we wanted to walk to the city - it's only about 3.5 km. Kept running out of standard breakfast food - ok if you wanted Rice Crispies and eggs weem to have been in short supply, we didn't find any the last two days. All in all a basic but perfectly clean and friendly place to stay for a few days - go for it!
“very pleasant hotel”
Nice big room and very friendly staff
“Quick Visit to Norwich”
Holiday Inn Express was a very efficeintly run hotel, the rooms are basic but more than adequate to make my stay comfortable. Staff were very open and more than willing to assist in any way they could, breakfast was included in the room price, simple selections of pastries and cereals with plenty coffee. All in all I would recommend this hotel.
“Comfortable - Express By Holiday Inn, Drayton High Rd, Norwich (near Asda)”
We visited Norwich just for 24 hours having lived there for more than 2 years. This hotel was booked for one night as it is conveniently located towards the west of the city (avoids the heavy traffic in the city centre). It was easy to find (just next to a big Asda supermarket) and had ample free parking. We were familiar with the surroundings which in all truthfulness are a bit uninspiring - especially the ice-rink next door looks tired. The exterior of the hotel is a bit dated but inside it was modern, clean, and very pleasant. It is a welcoming and quiet place which was appreciated after a long-haul flight. Our room had an ensuite shower/toilet and a small flatscreen TV. The one thing that most hotels do these days is paid wired and wireless internet which we did not use. A hotel can really score a lot of points if it offered free (possibly capped) internet. This one did not. The breakfast buffet was standard continental and done very nicely with warm bread rolls, yoghurts, fruit, cheese, Marmite, cereal, grapefruit bits, etc. We were pleasantly surprised about the quality of this Holiday Inn and can wholeheartedly recommend it.
“Friendly and professional staff”
The hotel is well located within easy access to the city centre, the ASDA which is next door and a nice pub nearby. The room was clean and spacious. But the air conditioner in our room (211) did not work and neither the telephone set. We had to go downstairs to ask the hotel staff to come and have a look at it. Young Polish woman, unfortunately we did not note down her name, came and attempted to help us. She was professional and friendly. She tried but could not fix the broken air conditioner. Oh before we forget she had earlier claimed the AC had been turned off in the manager's office! Were they expecting guests to freeze in subzero conditions? She eventually produced or offered a puny external radiator. It could have been really unpleasant in the freezing cold snowy winter without her help. We expect better from an outfit that belongs to the" Intercontinental Group".
“Excellent value for money!”
The quality of the hotel was excellent. The reception/restaurant area was compact but sufficient but the room was beyond expectations. It was finished to a very high standard and because it was all new I thought it was better than many Hiltons and Best Westerns that I have previously stayed in.
“Norfolk long weekend”
Ok hotel nothing special to be honest. Exterior looks shabby, interior fine, Very close to an Asda supermarket and ice rink. A bit too close to be honest. No restaurant/pub next door to the hotel which is expected these days. Room ok, windows didnt open though making the room stuffy, air con hard to operate. Cold buffet breakfast would be better if hot food served too. To be honest not as good as Premier Inn or Ramada Encore's that weve used before.
