“very freindly reception and helpfull.”
exellent place
“Citadines is the worst hotel ever”
I am an experienced traveller and have stayed in many hotels and self-catering accommodations across the world. This apart-hotel Citadines in NICE France was by far the worst place I have ever seen. On our arrival the apartment wasn’t ready and hadn’t been cleaned. The last thing you need on your arrival is for the cleaners to turn up and start cleaning the place. We were never told the hot water was rationed and it was only available between the hours of 11 pm to 6 am and if you were not prepared to have your bath or shower during these hours, basically it was tough luck, you just had to go on and be smelly. The air-conditioning thermostat control was deliberately nailed in a fixed position to stop you adjusting the temperature, come rain or sun shine you were stuck with one temperature setting. The toilet which is as small as an airplane cubical didn’t even have an air ventilation. Basically using the toilet was out of question, unless you didn’t mind exposing your travel companions to unpleasant odours from the toilet. The lift didn’t seem to work all the time and the car park was so small that we could not park our car Citroen C5 in the car park Basically the whole place was disgusting and in a terrible state and I will never go back again.
“Cheap for a reason”
Walking distance to where you want to be but the surrounding neighbourhood can be rough at night. Having a small kitchen is handy as groceries are close by and cheap. Laundry in the building is decent and inexpensive. The room is OK but the bed is a fold out and not super comfy. You have to pay for extra's like a clean towel or sheets unless you are staying for 6 nights or more. Beware of crooked cab drivers on your way to the airport. Its a short ride and should not be very expensive. Ask how much before you get in.
“Definately want to go back”
I have been to the city of Nice several times before and stayed at various locations. However, this was the first time at a Citedines apart'hotel. I was very satisfied with the self catering arangements, especially for breakfast. I would definately recommend.
“We'll be back”
The apartment is ideally situated for access to the beach, 10 mins' walk from the main square, 2 mins' from bus stop to a choice of destinations, but , far enough back from the main road to be nice and quiet. The daily market is 5mins' away, a supermarket similar, a choice of lovely cafes to breakfast in close by.
“Adequate for a short stay”
This hotel is ideal for a short stay. We were given two adjoining rooms i.e 2 kitchens and 2 bathrooms. With 2 teenagers this was ideal. Rooms had everything you needed but could of done with being cleaned and rubbish emptied (we were there 4 days and never had room cleaned). By end of our stay the rubbish bins were smelly! Nice is very expensive however a small supermarket just along street and a bakers too. All in all fine for short stays. Roof top terrace great for sun bathing! Beds really comfy too!
“slightly shabby but comfortable and quiet”
The hotel is slightly shabby and in need of refurbishment, It is however clean, comfortable and quiet. It is closed to the beach and easy working to the old town. THere is a very good bus service which stop almost opposite the hotel.
“Citadine hotel in Nice France”
the hotel was nice, it is a short walk to promenade beach, a good size balcony, it is a short walk to old town, it is close to everything, it has a full kitchen I like it. the only thing I don't like that they do a room service once a week, that mean if you stay for a few day , your room won't get clean, and if you need a new bath towl you have to pay 7 Euro, be prepared to bring your own towl. Overall this hotel is fairly decent, i would recommend it.
“simple appartment”
Not so much impressed although enough space. The bed/couch combination that needs to be pulled out is not a good treat for your back/ . POsitive point ; close to sea , promo price and sun terras on roof , silent location
“An average stay for an average price”
This hotel is the first I have stayed in where room cleaning is a paying extra, which I found unsatisfactory. towels and bed linen weren't changed for the duration of our stay, and were charged per change. We even had to ask for more toilet paper, which is not something I would expect to do in a hotel. The bed in the studio rooms is a sofa bed, and is extremely noisy and creaky, and due to it's build quite uncomfortable. I'd say it gave me the worst night's sleep of any hotel bed I have stayed in. The rooms have a balcony, which is a pleasant place to enjoy breakfast or a glass of wine in the evenings. The tv has no english channels, except for CNN and BBC news. It's not a big deal for us, but I think for families looking to distract children it could be helpful to have something to grab their attention. The location of the hotel is great, with a cafe and Franprix (like a Spar) nearby on Rue de France. At check-out, there was some confusion about city tax we had already paid at check-in.
