“Not Impressed at all - DIRTY”
Good location however the hotel SERIOUSLY needs a refurb. The lift is faulty and the lights on the stairs are timed so you can find yourself plunged into complete darkness trying to get up or down a steep spirally stairway. The room was nothing near what the pictures showed and after pulling back the sheets to reveal cream coloured smears on one sheet and brown smears on the other i was ready to run. Went down to the reception to explain for the stroppy man on duty to simply say "what do you want me to do about it?"... No offer to send someone up to remake the bed he simply pulled out an itchy rolled up blanket that didn't look clean either and shoved it at me! Would NEVER set foot in this filth pit again... be warned!
“Great location and some info about getting about in Nice”
the hotel is worth more than the 2* rating. the reception staff were friendly and helpful and spoke good english, the room was perfect for the short stay (3 nights)we were there. The kitchenette included microwave with grill, sink and 2 hobs with a selection of pans to use. The room was very clean and the beds were comfortable and we have a balcony too. The pool on the roof isnt massive but is good enough if you want to do lengths or sit and sunbathe in the sunshine. There is a tram stop less than 5 mins walk away, the main bus station is about 10 mins walk away )the actual bus station has been demolished recently but there is an area near the park where all the buses stop at - JC Bermond). Messina square and seafront is about 15 mins away walking or about 5 on the tram. The bus to monaco was eur 1 each way and took about 45mins, to cannes its also eur 1, but takes 2.5hrs so better to get the train which is dearer at eur 6 each way but only takes 30 mins. villefranche (nice little town with beach) is about 15 mins on the bus too and the airport is about 40 mins on the 98 bus (goes 3 times an hour during the day) and this costs eur 4 but u do get a day ticket which can be used on the local buses and tram system all day (u can get all round Nice and to villefrance with this ticket). There is also a large Carrefour supermarket about 10 mins walk away from the apartment block and 2 smaller 'corner shops' too. definitely will return to stay here next time we are in Nice.
“Not the best hotel in town, but fine for a budget traveller”
We had the hardest time finding a place to sleep in Nice. Hotels are either booked solid all the time or way over priced for the condition they looked to be in. My wife and i booked this hotel on a hope and a prayer as the reviews were less than stellar. We were pleasantly surprised. Although the guy at the front desk was a douche, the rest of the staff were friendly enough. Rooms are small and basic but clean. Street noise can be a problem if you're a light sleeper. Its only a five minute walk to the Old City, another ten min. to the water front and about a 30 min. hike from the station. So location wise, it worked great for us. There is an internet cafe two doors down and a grocery store one block further. We had a mini kitchen in our room so we bought groceries. I'd book it again if i was ever to go back.
“Not impressed at all except the location!!!”
Location is excellent. Couple of front staff are not that helpful and impatient. I stayed there for four nights and they don't bother to change the bed sheet for even one time. Dirty cups and plates left inside the kitchen sink for days. Anyway, room cleanliness is awful.
“Not Nice in Nice”
We booked this hotel on the recommendation of a friend who had stayed there. It was a big mistake. My husband and I were travelling with a friend of ours, so we booked and paid for a suite for the 3 of us. When we arrived at the hotel we were informed that the suite was not available and that we would be given two separate rooms instead. We were also given instructions on how to get to breakfast the next morning but were not informed that it was not included with the overpriced fee we had already paid for the rooms. The rooms themselves were small and grungy, the bathroom was tiny and ugly, and the shower drain did not work. When we checked out the next morning, we were stunned to receive a bill for about 8 euros each after having consumed the hotel's very mediocre breakfast. If after reading this review, you still want to stay at this place, we strongly advise that you eat breakfast on the main square a few blocks away. On the plus side, there is free underground parking attached to the hotel, but it's a bit of a trek to get to the hotel entrance after your car has been parked there. Our experience at this hotel was particularly irksome because I had just stayed in Paris a few nights earlier at a wonderful hotel (All-Seasons Bercy) that cost less that what we paid for this dump.
“Beautiful city, ok hotel”
The staff was not as friendly/helpful as other places I stayed in Provence. Parking was very difficult, as it seems to be everywhere in Nice. The hotel could stand some refurbishment, but it was clean, the location is very good and the view from the balcony is good.
“Not bad”
Nice hotel for a budget. Relatively close to everything in Nice. Not so close to the beach (about 30 min walk).
“Great Location”
Hotel is one block away from the tram, right behind it!! The bus station is like 3 blocks away, a 5 minute walk. The room had a small kitchen which was nice and clean. I would definetely recommend it!!
“There must be better in Nice”
V. small rooms, not very clean, floors sticky, balcony was filthy, swimming pool no chairs, lift didint work for 2 days and we were on the 5th floor. Positives, its close to the old town. Nice to have cooker in room to make coffee, snack.
“Great 2* Hotel”
I'am used to staying in 4* hotels so was a little apprehensive about this place, there was no need to worry. It was very clean and very central. The only thing I would comment on is the very slow lift & no sunbeds by the pool. Over all a very pleasant stay & would recommend.
