Unable to reach anyone at the B&B when our group got covid and we needed to make a change. Contacted Expedia and they couldn’t reach anyone by phone. Tried calling the only number listed on their site over 10 time’s starting at 8 am. Sent three messages with reference numbers and my contact number and no one followed up. Never had this experience before for a B&B/ hotel booking.

Not that recommend.
There was only one staff member handling check-ins, so when I first entered, I couldn't get assistance right away and had to wait. I tried calling the number listed at the front desk, but there was no response. When I asked a cleaning staff member about the check-in, they flatly refused to help, stating they couldn't assist, and didn't connect me to the responsible staff. After waiting for about 20 minutes, I was finally able to check in, and the staff handling the check-in was friendly. The breakfast was delicious, and the room was in good condition, clean, and cozy. However, the value for money wasn't justified at this price.

A beautiful historic property facing the lake. Charming decor. Conveniently located and walkable to the downtown and theatre. Breakfast was fantastic. The room was comfortable and spacious. Excellent experience.

Beautiful old property with lots of history. Staff were great and the breakfast was very good. Buyer beware - the bed seems to be as old as the house. An upgrade on sleeping arrangements is very much needed. Otherwise- very good!

Pros: Staff at check in was friendly. Common area to share with other guests was great for us as a group that stayed there. Very conveniently located for our purposes. Easy access coffee station was a nice touch. Cons: They called me the day before telling me they double booked our king bed room and we're being downgraded to a queen. Everything in the room rattled quite a bit just walking around. The (smaller) bed wasn't particularly comfortable. After confirming early check in would be provided for us our accommodation wasn't ready for our arrival. The other reviews particularly raved about the breakfast but it was pleasantly average. We were specifically told to put special requests on our menu form (ex. Add side of bacon) and they were not provided. Overall decent stay with a great location but some technical difficulties would have me not desperate to return again

Beautiful old building. Only a block from the waterfront, and just a couple blocks from the quainte stores and restaurants. Fort George is also walkable from here. The breakfasts were delicious, and delivered with a smile by the lovely staff. The common area is tastefully decorated. We were very comfortable here.

Our room was perfect, they common areas were cozy and homey and the staff we interacted with were incredibly friendly and helpful. Will stay here again! Also, breakfast was excellent!

Great location within easy walking distance to the lake, shops, and restaurants in a quiet neighborhood perfect for sitting on the front porch, or courtyard, in the evening with a glass of wine. The inside is very well kept and the room was well prepared and quiet. Breakfast was made fresh with a nice choice of options. My only negative is the exterior of the property needs some TLC, however, those concerns aren't extreme.

We loved the place. Great breakfast, easy check in. Parking. Super friendly staff. Lovely building with antiques and art. Close to everything we needed... Affordable for the area. We really enjoyed sitting on the front deck with the view of the lake and the fort. We enjoyed drinks there and played cards and board games.

great location with water views from the porch and patio our River room bed was not the best and floor had a big dip like old buildings sometime have In any case I would stay there again in a heartbeat

Disappointing
We were very disappointed overall. We were in the Cedar room. The staff were fine, but the room itself was not value for money. It was small, cold and musty, one chair only which was uncomfortable, the bathroom door stuck and nearly hit us in the face, the towels were very small and thin. The parking was very tight and we had to park on the street 2 of the 3 nights.

Usually, breakfasts at B and Bs add to the enjoyment of one’s stay. Breakfast both mornings of our visit was disappointing. Tired food left too long on a warming tray; watery Canadian bacon; English muffin so tough; cold oatmeal. The whole experience was off-putting. Top price for a room (River Room) were it is quite difficult to use the toilet, which is on a strangely-raised platform. Very clean room and bath. When we inquired about Wi-Fi, we were told the password was in the room. It was not, and by the time re realized it, the staff had left for the night. We will not return to The Old Bank House.

Perfect Stay
We had stayed there about 15 years ago and were hesitant to try it again. We’re so glad we did! Jessica greeted us with a very welcoming tour and took good care of us at breakfast the next day. Our room was well appointed and very comfortable as was the whole house. Breakfast was wonderful and relaxing. The location is perfect! We won’t wait or hesitate to be back!

We liked the location and view of the lake. The property has an old world charm on the exterior but is quite run down. Our room was spartan but clean. However it was cold with no way to adjust the temperature and we saw ants. The towels were skimpy and either torn or stained. We had to wait one hour for our breakfast on our checkout morning. So sorry to report unfavorably but the owner must really take more interest in his property

We loved our stay at The Old Bank B&B! Our room was huge. The house was built in 1817 and was originally a bank. Breakfast was yummy. We had a choice of four different breakfasts. The avocado toast was divine. The B&B overlooked a park and the Niagara River.
