"The property is not located where advertised. It claims to be 1 minute away from the waterside theatre and therefore not far from the train station. This was very important to me and my wife who were travelling with several heavy bags and needed to be very close to both and this is the exact reason we booked it. However, it turns out it’s around 25 minute walk away from the theatre! As a result, we had to take a couple of Ubers back and forth and thought it only fair the host covers the cost...

"We felt that the room was not cleaned properly, we found hairs on the bedding and in the bathroom, more attention needed, the room was light and airy, basic provisions of fridge, shared bathroom although we didn’t see any other guests when we stayed."

"Away for work and stayed at this really quiet venue. Nice greeting from host, great room (Apsley). Wifi good in room, no decaf option in room. Can I suggest a light in the porch so that you can see to enter the door code (sorry if there is one, couldn't see it). Great breakfast with lots of choice."

"Perfect night stay at Harlestone retreat, very clean room with tea and coffee available the bed was so comfortable i slept all night and needed an alarm to wake me up. I will be staying again for sure. It would be nice if they could leave a bowl of fruit or a drink as a welcome pack ( even if it costed me more money ) It was nice to relax in front of a big TV with some great films to choose from. Very clean shower and toilet. Overall it was just what i needed. "

"This is a horrible dirty house on a council estate and not the photo that you see in the picture - we had booked and paid for this not knowing any of this about 6 months ago - when we arrived - we were told that the room had been given to someone else - we were abused verbally and aggressively by the owner - who followed us when we went to my car to phone the police - he denied he was on Expedia - refused to give us our money - the police now have all this information - DON'T GO ANYWHERE NEAR...
