Unexpected experience

Posted 17-Sep-2014
I checked in into the hotel on 13th sep2014 and to my surprise I was not allowed to enter the diacotheque though I was ready to pay the charges . They asked the couple to enter and since I was new into the city I did not have any partner along with me . My question to the management is aren't the guest allowed to use the services and the amenities in your property ?? . I then checked out and went to JW Marriott wer I was given all the respects . I recommend not to go to this hotel for loathing as you would not be able to enjoy the services they provide .

Deceptive room descriptions, unhelpful lobby staff

Posted 17-Sep-2014
We booked a luxury room which cost more, however the room we booked looked nothing like the photos, it was old and unrenovated. We complained and were told someone would call us back after an hour and no one called.. We went down and they told us they had no other rooms available at all. We checked expedia and it showed many rooms available after telling them this they showed us several rooms! They showed us the delux which was a cheaper room that looked much nicer and try to tell us it was the luxary when there own photos state that it was a delux. Long story short, the staff continually lied to us.. After many hours of stuffing us around they offered us a junior suit on the last night of our stay in the late afternoon however by this stage it was too late and they said that they would work out some compensation and get back to us.. They never got back to us.. They provided nothing for us.. Terrible service.. They have about 5 guys in suits in the lobby that all have no idea what's going on..in the end, the executive, delux and luxury are all the same except for the views and (and whether the room has been renovated has nothing to do with room class). We also used the travel desk, the lady on the desk was chewing gum and talking on her mobile phone whilst we waiting for her to even say hi to us, she booked us a taxi that ripped is off for tolls and parking..The whole experience of the hotel was ruined by its staff in the lobby...

Good hotel with swimmingpool and seaview

Posted 17-Jul-2014
Pros: The staff is very friendly and ready to help where they can.
Cons: Attach a cord to the room-elevator card so you can wear it around your neck.
Location: see experience
I have been staying in this hotel a couple of times and can recommend it. Last time I arrived one and a half hour before check in time, but was offered an excellent room right away without extra costs. Although the area where this hotel is situated is not very nice and the beach dirty, the hotel itself is excellent. The staff offers excellent and friendly service. The swimming pool is small but nice with seats and sunbeds around it and sea view. In the evening the beach fills with locals and tourists who take a walk, take pictures, sell and eat snacks and, of course, play cricket ever other five meter or so. Nice to watch from your comfortable seat with a drink at hand. The breakfast buffet is excellent and offers Indian as wel as European breakfast items. Nearby is a good bookstore. A Chinese restaurant is opposite the hotel and a modern restaurant arund the corner about 15 minutes walk. Medical store next door, where they sell curd. The hotel is near the airport, about half an hour drive. On the other hand this causes noisy planes taking off over the poolside. In the rooms you will not hear this though. I hope to visit again!

nice location close to beach shopping

Posted 15-Jul-2014
Pros: the ambiance and location
Cons: the variety in breakfast especially in fresh fruits and juices,
Location: this is a seaview property and is ideally located for shopping I suggest link road in bandra and elco market as u can find great bargains there
my overall stay was good except for this one bad experience I had booked room for 3 person the room they gave had a queen size bed so the front desk guy told me he would place an extra bed in my room after check in they called me after 3 hrs and told me they would charge me $30 appx for extra bed so I had to argue a lot and they even threatened to remove the bed I was staying for 11 nights that means I wld pay $330 total which I refused to pay, that I thought was a ridiculous hidden charge its like I pay for 3 buffets but they wld give me only 2 plates and all 3 shd eat in 2 plates and if I need 3rd plate than I have to pay xtra ..so I had to make a long distance call to expedia and talk to them, thank god I booked this through expedia and they helped me resolve this, the hotel manager was so rude to me, he kept sending his staff to remove the xtra bed and this was around 9/10pm , I told them that I have spoken to expedia and I had to be firm about not allowing them to take my bed ,but finally next day I think they were able to figure it out, and did not charge me .

Nice location

Posted 07-Jul-2014
Pros: The hotel was very pleasant with friendly staff.
Cons: There was no free wifi at the hotel because we booked thru Expedia, we were told that had we booked directly with the hotel then the wifi was free.
Location: The location is very central, close to the airport, shopping mall, the beach etc.
We enjoyed our stay at Hotel Sea Princess for the 6 nights. There was complimentary free pick up from the international airport. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Hotel not upto Standards of other 4-5 star hotels!

Posted 09-Jun-2014
I believe everyone stays at a good hotel to get an experience similar or better than their home. And I am sure that every hotel works with the same aim of giving their guest the best experience. But Sea Princess lacked! Was on a business trip to Mumbai and had 2 rooms with this hotel. I and my colleague checked in late in evening and was dead tired because of a long day full of work. Grabbed a light dinner outside the hotel and slept. The next day slept an extra hour and didn't wake up on time. As i was late already for a morning appointment at Colaba, i thought i will grab some small bites from breakfast (included in my room) to take it with me and eat it in cab till Colaba. I explained the F&B Staff that i am running late for an appointment and please pack me some sandwiches (which were already there at service wrapped in cling foil) , banana and an apple for the road. To my surprise the staff refused and said that hotel policy does not allow food to be taken outside. I again asked them that breakfast is included in my room as I am late i do not have much time to eat it there in the restaurant. These are just small bites. On this the staff again refused and I had to step out of the restaurant. On my way out at reception I met with the Lobby Manager and he said the same - That hotel will not allow food to be taken outside. I work with different hotel in their F&B department, And never ever a hotel will ever refuse a GUEST their right to breakfast/EAT.
