Title: Urgent Warning: Stay Away from Casa San Diego Morelia Hotel – Security Issues Date of Stay: November 21-23, 2023 I am compelled to issue a strong warning against staying at Casa San Diego Morelia Hotel due to a severe security breach during my stay. Security Breach: After checking out, I realized I had left a jewelry bag in my room, containing items of great sentimental value. Despite promptly contacting the hotel, their response was dismissive. The staff, including the manager, claimed nothing was found, which is highly improbable as we had not stopped elsewhere after leaving the hotel. This incident has led me to question the integrity and security practices at this establishment. We have taken the step of filing a police report, and an investigation is ongoing. Conclusion: Given this distressing experience, I cannot recommend Casa San Diego Morelia Hotel. The apparent lack of honesty and security makes it an unsuitable choice for travelers. I strongly advise looking for alternative accommodations to ensure your safety and well-being. Gem of a hotel
This is a beautiful hotel in the heart of Morelia. Although it's location in a very busy street. The rooms are VERY quiet. Our stay included breakfast which offered many delicious options. A+

Awesome Gem!
Just had ally 2nd stay at this very lovely, clean, colonial hotel. Excellent location, walking distance to the Tarascas fountain and from the cathedral. Awesome value for this gem!

Clean and convenient
Somewhat standard, nothing out of the ordinary, but safe and clean. Nice-looking rooms with comfortable beds and sheets. A convenient 10-minute walk from the cathedral. That said, the hotel is near a major avenue, so there is some traffic noise and one of the main entrances is not as convenient or pedestrian friendly. It might have been the holiday season, but people dining downstairs were too loud from 8 pm to 11 pm. Also, one of the guards started shouting at 10 pm on a Saturday. Breakfast was not ready at 9:45 am so we didn't get to try it.

Cleanliness, beautiful decor, staff very attentive, peaceful, excellent location. Aqueducto at front entrance and Calzada at back entrance. Good resturant on site and walking distance to other great food options, downtown, and other great sites. Will definitely stay again

Nice boutique hotel, the Deluxe Suite had a nice separation and a door between the bedroom and the hall, specially useful if you're looking to get some work done while the rest of the party does something else. For food, you're probably better off walking 2-5 minutes to a large number of nice options.

The staff is outstanding, inviting and incredibly helpful. The hotel is absolutely beautiful with soft jazz floating through the halls. The place is fantastic, clean and close from everything. The food in the hotel it’s good, but in “La Calzada” there a great place for eat (less than one block from the hotel).

Long weekend in Morelia
The staff was attentive and extremely welcoming. Casa San Diego is walking distance from many wonderful shops and restaurants. My husband and I and several family members were in town for a wedding. The staff provided great recommendations on places to visit and dine for the days leading up to the wedding.

I liked the service that the staff provided us, very friendly and attentive. I would like to have had a small fridge to put some of the cold beverage and food that we did not finish.

Nice Hotel with room for improvements
The building is nice, they keep it nice and clean but there are a few things that needs improvement such us fixing the fire place on the suite, more attention to the small details like replacing worn out bathroom towels, cleaning the upholstery of the couches in the room specially if it has a big wet spot. Oh! and let’s not forget about the patio on the second floor next to the suite which they rent it for night events, loud music and drunk people with freely access to hotel walking in the hall ways. This hotel has a lot of potential to make the guest feel comfortable, safe and wanted to come back but before that happens they really need to take care of these issues.

Standard room with some issues
Price was decent but our room was just not what we expected. The bathroom sink was behind the door, its space was too small for the two of us trying to access it at the same time. TV set was place on the bed's left side with little room to manipulate its angle for a better view. Lastly, the hotel service room was just above our room and sounds/noises were heard throughout the night.

Not the service I expected
We arrived late at the hotel, around 11pm and the hotel was closed with a sign at the property "I will back in 10 minutes", we waited for some time and the front desk man came to open the doors. The air conditioning was not working and even though we told the front desk, on our second night it was not working again.

Great place but with problems.
This is a beautiful hotel with great service. However I'm going to tell you the issues. it's an all stone hotel so you hear every noise carried throughout the entire place. It's not close to town it's about a 20-minute walk into the central area. But my big frustration was I booked at $50 a night and paid at the hotel. By the time I got there and paid the rate went from $50 to $85. I don't know if it's a problem with hotels.com or this particular property but I have lodged a protest with hotels.com.

Facilities were awesome. There is no parking for self park so you have to rely on the staff to help you, they were not as cordial and helpful to bring your car. they would give us attitude every time we would ask for the car. felt like I was interrupting them.

An excellent option
Casa San Diego's location on Acqueducto makes it a little hike to the main plaza, but on the other hand it allows a more tranquil spot, and the combis for 45cents make the plaza accessible. The receptionists speak enough English to accommodate poor Spanish. The room was exceptionally clean, comfortable, and spacious. The toilet/shower was a little cramped; the vanity area was very nice; and the robe provided adds a luxurious touch. Food was good but service slow. This is an excellent accommodation.

Excellent hotel
Very classy hotel. Very large rooms, high ceilings and tastefully decorated. Very quiet and opens on to pedestrian walkway at rear. Central location, can visit all of Morelia by walking - and it is not at all dangerous. Breakfast and dinner at restaurant was above expectations

Very nice and well located

Relaxing vacation

Awesome, clean, great location, authentic!
My family is from Morelia however this trip i was with my wife so i decided to get a hotel for both of us. Great location. Great ambience, great decoration. Shopping and cathedral is just a few minutes away. Hotel.is located in front of the historic aquadec. Quiet hotel with only abt 14 rooms. Awesome hotel!

Great Gem of a Hotel
