Nice stay

Posted 14-Dec-2014
Pros: Price is appropriate in this expensive hotel area.
Cons: Hotel needs renovation. Significant carpet decay is evident. However, the humidity is high and erodes anything so fast. Mattresses and pillows are nof
Location: Very close to Carmel and Monterey
We had good experience because we had golf course view and rooms were in building 11 with quiet rooms. This was better than our previous stay in other buildings. Staff are welcoming. Fireplace lounge was excellent. Live Jazz music was great. Breakfast is comprehensive but expensive.

Me and my boyfriend came when the storm hit. It was a little confusing getting to our room. The room had just the right amenities to make your stay feel at home. The bed was so comfortable. The only thing I had to complain was the floors creaked when we walked around in the room.

Good hotel with reliable service

Posted 13-Dec-2014
Pros: The area was quiet outside - or I just didn't hear any noise due to the jet engine running in my room.
Cons: The shower stalls DEFINITELY!
Location: I attended the California Math Conference North annual conference at Asilomar. The hotel had reliable facilities reasonably close to Asilomar.
The Front Desk accommodated our needs for rooms together on the ground floor. The dehumidifier in the room was as loud as a jet engine and difficult to turn off. Even so, I couldn't figure out how to turn off the heating system fan. The shower has a half barrier for water so the floor got wet next to the door when I showered. The water pressure was all but non existent. The housekeeping staff forgot our floor mat towels on the second day so we had to use a bath towel. Thankfully, we were both single occupants.

Not really a 4 star Hotel & Resort Fees

Posted 12-Dec-2014
Pros: It was just plain. Didn't really use anything.
Cons: Just seems to be an old hotel.
Location: Carmel and Monterey are nice.
It was ok. I tried the Expedia %40 discount on hotel. It was a decent price but I didn't expect the $20 daily for hotel fee for internet and parking? The hotel is old and not really a 4 star anymore.

Overprice, disappointed hotel

Posted 10-Dec-2014
Very expensive. You pay for a hotel roon of a prestige chain but us really a motel. They charge you for resort fees and it's not even worth it. Most of the time you are out the hotel.

Lovely respite for Thanksgiving weekend

Posted 05-Dec-2014
Pros: Lovely grounds, space for everyone to move to run. Very family friendly without being excessively casual. Thanksgiving buffet was delicious and plenty
Cons: The dining areas and the pool area were really noisy, not sure if that can be changed, given that these are the areas that families (including mine) l
Location: We went to Big Sur one day and the Monterey Aquarium
Overall really nice and fun place to go with family. We spent a lot ofttimes in the heated pool and hot tub. It was a great base to explore Monterey and Bug Sur. The only complaint is the nosiness of the dining areas-but then that is the price we pay for a great family friendly hotel. We loved the morning breakfast buffet! Yum

Lovely & clean

Loved the warm pool. Good cofee & very friendly staff. Very clean and fresh. Would have liked a DVD player since movies were pricey at $6.99.

Great romantic getaway

Posted 27-Nov-2014
Pros: The hotel was clean, comfortable, convenient and had a romantic setting. My girlfriend and I are not golfer's but enjoyed watching people play.
Cons: Possible improvements, consider a romantic room with jetted tub at affordable prices to attract younger couples which would in turn give opportunity.
Location: Good location
From the moment we got out of our Car the staff were courteous, attentive and immediately greeted us asking if we needed assistance. Joe at the front desk was super nice and helpful.

Beautiful Hotel

Posted 22-Nov-2014
Pros: Setting
Location: The Waterfront, Aquarium, Restaurants and Shopping
Clean, beautifully landscaped, I almost felt like I was in Hawaii. Near everything I wanted to see in Monteray and Carmel.
