"The check in was simple, with clear instructions provided in the room. Access to good quality WiFi was again simple. I ate in the pub for breakfast and dinner, it was easy to put my dinner bill and associated drinks on my bill. All the staff were friendly and relaxed, despite being a busy bank holiday weekend, which is a credit to them. All the food was fantastic, served hot and without too much of a wait. The staff were on it and keen to give you a good stay. I would definitely stay again! "

"We had an overnight stop at the Troutbeck Inn were greeted by a very friendly owner who couldn’t do enough for us. We had an evening meal which was as good as I’ve had anywhere, great quality, great taste and not at all expensive ( would recommend the stake pie it was delicious and plenty of it. Had a full English breakfast which was as good as it gets. Hosts were warm, friendly and welcoming. Will definitely be back"

"The hotel was very well presented in a scruffy and disappointing town. The quality of the catering at the hotel was exceptional. Some of the best food I’ve eaten in an hotel in a very long time. The menu was imaginative with some nice detail and the delivery exceeded expectations. The town wouldn’t attract me back but I would be prepared to travel some distance to sample the food again."

"We had a lovely weekend stay at this country pub with rooms. The owners are lovely and very friendly and welcoming. Its a dog friendly place, so for us, that was perfect. Our room (room 2) was on the ground floor and had a door leading out to the garden, great if you have a dog. The room was a good size and very comfortable, with tea and coffee making facilities, tv and a hairdryer. The king sized bed was good and the bathroom was lovely. We ate dinner and breakfast here both days and the food...

"Very friendly staff in popular and welcoming village local. We only stayed one night and didn't eat here though the menu looked great. Obviously popular with locals and tourists alike for a small village it was busy on the Saturday night we stayed. Room was clean and comfortable though dated. The bed was a bit older than some but perfectly pleasant. The surrounding area is stunning with plenty to do within a short drive and lots of walking on your doorstep. Overall a most enjoyable stay. "What a beautiful location for a lodge! The lodge itself was well presented and clean with everything you would need, but by far the best things are the views and the peace. You are only 15mins away from Keswick. We will definitely be back."

"We used this cute little cottage as a stop off on the way to Scotland. Loved the views from the garden and having breakfast on the terrace while watching the sheep with their lambs. Close enough to Keswick for amenities but far enough away to be very peaceful and quiet."
