“Friendly and very good value traditional Inn”

Very friendly & pleasant staff. Room reasonable. Bathroom very clean and with shampoos & towels etc ready. Bed comfortable. Window openable. TV with remote and tea/coffee-making items including nice big mugs. It is no 5 star Hilton, the building is quite old, but extremely good value with everything you need. We were late down to breakfast next morning but were still served our full English, including black pudding ! Conveniently located on main road - easy to find and not overly noisy either from the traffic or being over a pub. Near buses and town centre and church etc. Next door to another inn - the Kinderton - looked slightly more upmarket - same management apparently.

Typical English pub downstairs in need of some maintenance. The rooms recently refurbished and are excellent, good beds and en suite. Very friendly and helpful staff. Very easy access to the two docks for canal boat hire in Middlewich so a great place to overnight before embarking on a canal boat holiday.
