This hotel is very clean, the staff is excellent, and it’s close to everything you want to be near. It’s one block off the beach, and about four blocks from the Malecon. It’s an older property, so be sure, and bring at least one surge protector with extra outlets. All in all, it’s a great place to sleep and hang out. We will be back.

It is a nice hotel but it need a lot of maintenance. We booked a Junior suite but it is just a big room with nothing in . There is only 1 electric outlet in the room and it is for the refrigerator. There is only 1 plastic chair. In the bathroom there is a lot of holes in walls and no place to put the towels

This was an amazing property near the beach and a 5 min walk to the Progreso Boardwalk. An amazing restaurants within walking distance as well. The bed was very comfortable. The room was large and the shower had consistent hot water!!! 10/10 recommend.

Clean room, but the staff is lazy. We went to the pool that had a bar but not anyone around. We went inside ti ask for drinks, 40 minutes pass no one showed up. We gave up and left only to find the entire staff sitting in a back room having a great time. I didn't want to even eat there with the incompetent service. The internet was horrible. No towels. Bad hotel...

DO NOT BOOK HERE!!! -The whole night a sewer/rotten egg smell came out from the shower AND the sink. It was so strong it stonked all of our clothes and needed to go to a different place to shower and wash all my clothes since my hair also stonk so bad. -The price is one of the highest in Progresso and its not worth it. There are newer and better options for the rate per night this property charges. -Paint in the overall building and our room was peeling. I understand that the area has humidity, but the pics here speaks for the poor maintenance of the hotel. -Lots of rust in doors, towel racks, windows, everywhere. -The area around is very dark and feel unsafe. -I had a masseuse coming in in the morning to give me a massage before a breakfast meeting and had to cancel it. -We requested blankets and both were delivered dirty and with lots of hairs from other people. -I requested a refund and the Expedia team did a great job trying to talk to the manager for over 2 weeks and every time they push back saying there was no one who spoke English at the property to be able to help or approve the request. Very frustrated trying to communicate with someone at the property. You will see that the manager will respond to my review (like other ones) in English but for 2 weeks no one at the property spoke the language. Overall, the worst experience with a hotel I’ve had in Mexico (Lived and traveled there for over 40 years now)

Good morning Miss Carolina, in effect Expedia communicated, of course we have staff who speak English, we even answered an email in which it was explained that if at the moment of detecting the bad smell she approached reception we would not hesitate to change her room, when for In the morning, he comments on leaving, he was even offered a higher-class room for his massage and to be able to rest even a little from what he could not rest at night. We are a hotel in a house almost 100 years old, our intention is to make them feel wonderful, it's a shame that they had such a bad experience in our place. we're at your service.

Lovely hotel just a short walk from the beach. They apparently serve food but I walked across the street to the restaurant that opens onto the beach and had dinner there. Very quiet, in a neighborhood that includes an expat bar, and they're only a few blocks from the chaos - and dining/shopping options - of the Mercado Boardwalk.

I would HIGHLY recommend staying here to anyone visiting Progreso or nearby communities! The property is a delight, exceptionally clean, secure, quiet and very well maintained. The staff is exceedingly professional, friendly and desires to help you in any way they can to ensure that your stay is an extraordinary experience. The location is fabulous, only a short walk/drive to the Malecon (with a vast selection of restaurants and vendor markets) and also to Progreso Central where you can exchange dollars (or other currencies) for pesos and visit the Market filled with various vendors. Plus there are 2 delightful "beach restaurants" directly across the street from the hotel where you can enjoy the day with your family directly on the beach while being able to order food and libations. BTW - Technohotel Casa Villamar also offers a delicious, wonderful reasonably priced breakfast to help you start your day!

The people that work there were super helpful and sweet with recommendations on what to do or see. The breakfast at the restaurant was delicious. A great way to start our day. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and plan on coming back.

The hotel was beautiful and quaint with high ceilings, verandas, and pool area. Great location close to shopping and restaurants. A lock from the beach. Staff was friendly and provided information for the beach club that we were able to use. AC worked great in our room. We asked for blankets as there weren’t any on the beds. Wifi was intermittent, and there was occasionally a sewer smell in the room. Overall was a great property

Very pleased with the hotel, the enormous ceilings in my room, great water pressure, strong air conditioning, and modern furnishings. Kudos for providing hair conditioner and bottled water. One bit to note for other travelers, Uber often has no cars available in Progreso and taxis are hard to find at times so you may be walking 25 minutes to Calle 80 during your stay. There are lots of restaurants and the Malecon is a block away. Also, my room did not include a blanket or comforter, just clean sheets and pillows which can be an adjustment if you are used to layers while sleeping. I would stay here again.

The hotel was well maintained and well looked after. The staff were very friendly and helpful even though there were some languages barriers, things did get worked out. Coffee was available throughout the day but tea was not available at all.

A beautiful old colonial mansion now boutique hotel. It's right across the street from the Malecon, the beach, lots of shopping and restaurants. The rooms are simple chic, comfortable. I had the kind size bed at the front of the house, a private patio and a view of the beach (until a 2 story building goes up). I am travelling as a single woman and felt very safe. Highly recommend this place. My only princess complaint is there was only 1 outlet in the room so hard to recharge everything at once and still have the fridge plugged in. But I managed. . Nice well-maintained pool and seating area. Coffee was on all day. I give this place a 10 out of 10 star rating

Restored 1920s House just off the Beach
Restored 100 year old house just off the beach and a few blocks from The Malecon. Good inexpensive breakfast.Poor wifi. Could use better locks on doors. Will stay there again.

Total Disconnection (literally)
Great place, loved the hotel and the surroundings. Incredible for disconnecting (the worst WiFi ever and not a single free plug to connect your devices in the room). Also the service, even good it's not the best (I had to carry my suitcase to my room and back down, and not service room, not even a telephone to call reception). Anyway, I had a great time there. Clean and simple, not for working but for relaxing.

Beautiful Casa Hotel/ Weak Wifi
The hotel itself is a converted house that is almost 100 years old. Nice features are high ceilings and wrap around porches. It is located in a quiet area and not far from the malecon. There is beach access across the street but that beach is not well maintained and clean. The pool is a nice feature though it did have quite a bit of sand and bugs in it when we were there. I stayed in an upstairs room (#8). The view was nice and air conditioner was strong. The bed is comfortable enough for a couple of nights but they only include sheets. No blanket. At night it can get cool and you might need to turn the fan or a/c off. The biggest drawback was the wifi. In room #8 you could not connect. If you sat outside the room in the hallway you would get okay reception. Downstairs near reception and the restaurant was the strongest reception. Maybe other rooms could receive the wifi signal but in our case the wife was unusable inside our room.

Charming Hacienda now a Hotel
Beautiful old world hacienda converted to a nice hotel with all modern conveniences. Staff was very friendly and welcoming. A/C works great, pool is clean, location perfect just off the malecon.

The property was very quiet and clean. We decided not to stay the night because it was a little distance from shops and restaurants. I wish we would have stayed it was much better than the other hotel we chose.

This property is not ready for guests. I upgraded my room to a suite which looked nice enough only to find out it flooded. I was there for 3 nights of which 2 off them I had to mop floors. On my last night there I spent 2 hours mopping gallons of rain water out of my room. There was no staff to help, one receptionist and a security guard who was worthless. There is no shelf in the bathroom by the sink to put personal toiletries. It looks like there was one there at one time but it was busted off of the wall and only the screws remain. The mattress on the king size bed is a cheap low quality bargain basement uncomfortable piece of trash. Tecnohotel Casa Villamar you say this is one of your "Collection" hotels? If so you have nothing to be proud of.
