"This is the perfect place to stay and were it not closing in the near future, we would most certainly return. Jackie, her mum, Jackie's two little helpers and Milo all made us feel very welcome. The rooms are lovely and the lounge is wonderfully welcoming. The evening meals are just superb (and excellent value at £33 per head) and we wished we were staying longer. "I read some bad reviews about the guest house so went with an open mind. However the guest house was lovely, clean and warm with plenty of tea and good quality coffee. It's situation to public transport links was brilliant not that we had the chance to use it as we were only there for 1 night. We were there as attending a funeral, the owners let us use the car park all day which was invaluable on this occasion. I will definitely use this guest house in the future. "Really nice apartment in a great location to the square. Close by to the bars, cafes, restaurants and also not far from the Castle and main roads to get into Kelso. Check in was easy as the owner sent us details of how to get in and everything was very straight forward. Rooms were comfy, well decorated and it was a fantastic space overall. Genuinely felt really cosy and at home as soon as we entered, and it was especially great to have so much storage space including a walk in wardrobe. ...

No t.v. stations just bbc 1. Plus no breakfast. Wr asked numerous times about breakfast and were told to see Christine. But unfortunately Christine never appeared. Think we had paid for it aswell. It didnt spoil our stay just disappointing. "

"Fantastic property with everything you'd need, or thought you didn't need.... great hosts who were eager to make sure we'd settled in and had everything we needed or any help with suggestions for sight seeing (although great information book supplied). We were new to the area but found the location perfect as a base for exploring near and far. over a few days..plenty to do on your doorstep with shops and eateries with-in Melrose if you don't fancy cooking. "The cottage was cosy and very comfortable for 2 couples. The location is excellent, very close to the town centre. We had some lovely walks and enjoyed a delicious Italian meal at the restaurant just round the corner. Would definitely stay again when we're back in Melrose. "
