Lovely hotel, staff let it down.

Posted 24-Nov-2014
We recently stayed at the andalou for a long weekend. Our first impressions were of how pretty the hotel was. Check in took a while but we were in a large group and they were very accommodating in letting us have lunch before our check in. The rooms are lovely and big and have a larg bathroom. There were two sinks, a shower cubicle and bath and shower. Toilet and bidet. Towels were replaced daily. The beds were comfortable. The only part of the hotel that is not so good is the service. The staff only just answer the phone to you and then don't understand what you are saying and hang up on you. The staff were not very helpful and we had quite a few examples of this. If you want a cheap break away then the andalou is good.

Pleasant stay but definitely not 5*

Posted 24-Nov-2014
Pros: I liked the bedroom itself which had it's own chilling/relaxing area. The spacious bathroom, each bathroom had a shower and a bath tub which was love
Cons: More variety of food and opening the other themed restaurants on site during lunch. Increasing the number of TV channels. Having the pool heated.
Location: You do need a car for this location. The free shuttle bus to the Medina gets booked up in advance. There was nothing nearby. Good for total peace.
On arrival the hotel seemed nice enough with big rooms. However, if you're staying for longer than 3 days you'll soon get bored of the repetitive food. They have many restaurants on site however, none of these are open during lunch when people really need it as most people are booked on as half board if not full board. The breakfast was simple with some danish options however, the only cooked section was the omelette station. For dinner there wasn't much choice and the meats were usually dry and flavourless. Only good thing was the pasta station however, it was limited to only pasta bolognese night after night. The TV stations were limited with only 3 channels that were English, of which one was BBC Worlwide News. The staff weren't that helpful and getting a simple pool towel seemed to take the longest process which just got plain silly.

Beautiful, clean and grand hotel.

Posted 15-Nov-2014
It's was a beautiful hotel, slightly remote from Central Marrakesh but perfect for relaxing and getting away from the hustle and bustle of city life. Very tranquil surroundings. The hotel has some beautiful features which show illustrate the artisan talent which is widely evident throughout. We travelled with our 2 year old son who loved his stay especially the pool. He couldn't get enough and had be dragged away everyday. With it being November the temp in the pool wasn't warm enough to swim in. But was fine to dip your feet in and kids to play in the shallow parts. It's a shame the indoor pool wasnt inclusive and didn't allow kids in. We were all inclusive and enjoyed the food in the restaurant especially the tagines. Everything was freshly cooked or prepared in front of you. The service was pretty efficient. It's a shame that more of the staff didn't speak more fluent English. It's was mainly French or Arabic. But we a managed to get by so no biggie. The rooms were immaculate kept. The rooms were cleaned everyday as was the hotel. Every morning the hotel was scrubbed and was gleaming throughout the day. We made full use of the shuttle bus which travelled into central Marrakesh very hour. Saved us plenty in taxi fares. Overall our stay was fantastic and will definatly be revisiting in the future.

Not 5*

Posted 13-Nov-2014
Pros: Spacious rooms, food was nicely cooked but always the same thing.
Cons: The entertainment, the cleanliness, the decor.
Location: The hotel has a free shuttle to the medina. Use it. Don't use the private taxis that the hotel people try to push on you. Book your own excursions!!
We spent 3 nights at this hotel. It is not 5*. Our all inclusive option was a waste of money as the drinks were mediocre and some cocktails were from a machine. The meals were always the same. No variety. The entertainment was poor. Mainly handful of guests dancing with the entertainment coordinators nd darts competition during the day time. Our room was big and spacious no the beds comfortable however the floor always felt dirty and the bath was not washed for the duration of our stay. The shower was rusty and the tiles were cracking up. There was no light in our bathroom when we arrived and I had to ask for housekeeping to instal a bulb. The throws were not clean and had paint stains on them. I skied for them to be changed and ended up getting smelly dusty ones. I think the hotel grounds were nice and the rooms were spacious but nothing wowed me. I would not return to this hotel. I would not recommend either.

Lovely room overlooking pool

Posted 11-Nov-2014
Pros: Lovely large room, huge swimming pools, free shuttle bus into Marrakech, beautiful hotel building.
Cons: Lighting! Reception was always so dark, also stairwells.
Location: Nothing at all within walking distance of hotel, but free shuttle bus was excellent to visit the city sights.
Lovely big room with view of pool, hotel building beautiful. Swimming pools huge but not heated so a bit fresh! Mostly French clientele but some English & Morrocan too. Found staff mostly to be very helpful and could understand English quite well. Food lovely but a bit samey each night. Atlas buffet restaurant felt like eating in a canteen rather than a dining experience, when busy often had to lay your own table. Also lots of children there so while I would say it would be great for families, it's not really a hotel for a romantic couples break.

Lovely hotel..

Posted 08-Nov-2014
Hotel was beautiful and roomd very spacious! Could not fault staff and cleanliness! Food was lovely and a lot of variety! Not really much of a spa / facilities though ! Just small indoor pool and hammam! The hotel should not charge extra for this as not worth it ! However the massage/spa facilities were good. About 15/20min ride into medina which was bit too hectic but still Amazing and colourful

okay hotel on outskirts of marrakech

Posted 04-Nov-2014
Pros: pools rooms water park
Cons: its a bit soulless
Location: Oasiris water park is just up the road
Have stayed here a few times - and as long as your not expecting a luxury 5* then I think this place offers good value for money with nice rooms, okay facilities, nice pools and even a mini-water park for kids. It just about scrapes a 4* Its a bit out of the way for Marrkech proper but the setting with the mountain backdrop is nice enough so as long as you manage your expectations then completely fine

Good relaxing break

Posted 21-Oct-2014
Pros: Very clean, staff were very helpful, good choice of good food.
Cons: If I was looking to be critical I would suggest the evening entertainment - some of it was so bad it was almost funny.
Location: Quite remote - need transport to go anywhere
We wanted a relaxing week, which is precisely what we got. There was no need to leave the hotel complex at all.
