“Would happily go back”
Great hotel with comfortable rooms and fantastic club lounge. Would thoroughly recommend to couples and families alike. This was our second stay and we look forward to our third! The loungers around the panoramic pool are obviously well usedand showed signs of wear!
“NOT 5*”
The service in this hotel is very good. The staff are friendly and helpful but the public areas are looking tired especially the indoor pool area. Our party consisted of 3 adults and we had a very large family room with a sea and pool view . But it was in the corner of the building so it was dark and the balcony never got any sun.Noise from other rooms was terrible due to no carpet. We ordered the american pancakes from the room service menu and they were crepes smothered in sauce instead of butter and maple syrup as the menu said. There was no pool food. It was ordered through room service which took 45min.If the hotel was full I think the one outside pool would be much too small and the sunbathing areas inadequate. The loungers were left out all the time so were wet to lie on. Just not what you would expect from 5*. The worst thing about the hotel is its location. At night you have to walk through club land to get any where and during the day its dead because it only comes alive at night. Only recommended if you want a clubbing holiday.
“Nice hotel in a convenient location”
I had a nice stay at this hotel. Location is excellent for those who like to hang out at night. Staff are also very nice, helpful. Pool in the terrace was closed for maintenance/bad weather, but the reception staff were unaware about it.
“Never again”
I've been to 3 star hotels better than Intercontinental.I would rather sleep in a tent than go back there!
“Great Holiday”
My only quibble with the reservation of the holiday was the private beach that the Hotel advertise. It was far from being a sandy beach, it was a very pebbly beach and quite dirty, with peoples rubbish just floating aorund. The beach was not ideal for the kids, they hated having to walk on a pebbly beach, into pebbly water. However on the other hand St Pauls Bay was not too much of a distance on bus, so kids were able to enjoy the sandy beach. As for the Hotel, I just think that a 5* Hotel should have ice available on each floor, at no cost. This was a slight disappointment, having to pay $3 euro's on top a tip, each time we needed ice. Also the hotel did not offer free WIFI for residents. These are the only two complaints I have about the Hotel. The Hotel had no information for tourists at all. There was nothing to help with the planning of our trip and we had to go to another hotel to get some tourist information.
“An oasis of calm in a very busy and dirty area”
The hotel was lovely and very clean and had great facilities. The pool is lovely and being on the 10th floor got a nice breeze which helped in the 38 degree heatwave that coincided with my visit. The staff were very helpful though some oddities in the maid service like replacing shampoo etc every day but not once did they restock coffee and sugar in the room in a week and (not that it matters as I find it an odd anachronism) they turned down the bed the first night then never again. Good live entertainment in the Al Fresco restaurant every night and the food was very good - though breakfast rates seemed somewhat extortionate. The local area is like an 18-30 nightmare after dark but the moment you step in to the hotel you can literally not hear a thing. The beach is nice and there is a great dive school just 50 yards away.
“Intercontinental Hotel Malta: The smell of mould”
1. When I called I was told that parking was included, but when we checked in the said it wasn't and it was very expensive. I made a fuss and then they reimbursed us for the parking 2. The rooms looked beautiful but smelled VERY VERY VERY bad. Mould. I stayed in one room with my one child and my husband in another room with the other child. Their room was much bigger, and still smelled, but our room was just impossible and I have a child with asthma. Both rooms were on the 11th floor and the other customers we talked to also said smelled very bad. After I complained they shampooed the carpet, but it was obvious that that wasn't enough. Thankfully they found me another room on the 14th floor which didn't smell bad at all, so we kinda got a free upgrade
“wonderful service”
Wonderful service, as always; very friendly, helpful staff, and 15th-floor club lounge experience great, especially with kids. Only very minor downside was choice of decor in room. Paceville is a very noisy, clubby area, but once you're nside the hotel, you can't hear a thing. Overall, a fantastic hotel, will definitely go back when we have to visit St. Julian's relatives again - a real treat.
“The Malta experience”
This hotel is located right in the middle of the 'party' district.
“Expedia at it's best!!!!”
Great package from start to finish. All scheduled flights grweat and on time and the hotel, Inter Continental was first clasds and excellent. I received an upgraded room and the service was excellent. The best part of all was the price!!!!
