“I Lovely Port Stay at the Aimia Hotel”

I would love to stay at the Aimia again. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel is right on the waterfront so there was easy access to everything. I could walk all along the port too. I recommend requesting a 3rd or 4th floor room so that you can get the best view of the port. If you want to take frequent dips in the pool make sure to go when it is warm because the indoor pool is tiny. The spa treatments were nice, the facial was my favorite. I recommend scheduling your session when the area is likely to be quiet as the walls are a bit then.

Area recommendations
The area was very safe and comfortable with a few resturants and shops. You can bike over into the closest town for more variety.
When to go
I would recommend going when its £0C plus so that you can get into the beach water.
Getting there
It was 40euros from the airport to the hotel by taxi. You could have taken two buses too.
Nightlife
I didnot see a lot of nightlife in this area of the island but image Palma would be the place to go for more social events
Outdoors or beach
There was a beach area on the port. I saw many families enjoying the day out.

“Restful hotel with pampering spa facitilies”

Staff at the Aimia are always helpful, polite and friendly, from breakfast service to night time reception. The hotel was quiet and restful with good spa facilities - jaccuzi, spa pool with jets, sauna and steam, and massage treatments available - everything you would want for a relaxing break. The outside pool is a reasonable size with plenty of sun loungers around for some sunbathing. Rooms are clean & well appointed with modern decor, and many have sea view balcony. The breakfasts were banquets! Everything from scrambled egg and bacon to fruit and yoghurt, pastries and Mallorcan cakes and savouries were available daily, & best of all the squeeze your own fresh orange juice from local oranges. The hotel is just round the corner from the beach (quite narrow and sandier further along the bay, but quiet in early June) which has lifeguards on duty. Lovely restaurants are located all around with perhaps more atmosphere than the hotel. The drive from the airport is easy and only 35mins, but costs about 4 euros toll through the 2km tunnel. Altogether we really enjoyed this hotel for a relaxing and quiet break.

Area recommendations
It is easy to wander along the seafront in Port de Soller and enjoy the shops and bars and restaurants. To go a bit further take a walk up towards the museum (although you cannot get as far as the lighthouse) for a good view. The little wooden train goes regularly between the port and the town of Soller up the valley, taking you on a trip through orange and lemon groves, and is a good way to travel. Nearby villages of Fornalutz, Deia and Valldemossa are all accessible by car as long as you don't mind narrow roads and hairpin bends, and they are all lovely places to explore. Valldemossa has connections with Chopin who lived there briefly one winter and there is a fascinating museum in the monastery where he stayed.
When to go
We went in early June and it was relatively quiet and warm (21-24degrees C). This also coincided with the orange harvest in the area with special "orange menus" available in some restaurants.
Getting there
Airport transfers seem only to be by taxi (we booked with Expedia) and are expensive (£100 plus for 2 people), so we hire a car for almost the same price. The journey from the airport is easy, and the only expense is the 4 euro toll for the tunnel.
Dining
There are many restaurants along the sea front with Mallorcan specialities, especially fish, but also Italian and other cuisine too. All seem very welcoming and not pushy for your custom.
Nightlife
This is a very quiet resort (early June) so do not expect lots of night life
Outdoors or beach
The 2 beaches are not the best in Mallorca, but the friendly ambiance and proximity of hotels to the beach were ideal.

“Good choice”

We had been planning to visit Port Soller some time ago and had earmarked Aimia Hotel as the place we would stay when we did. We were not disappointed. First impressions, at midnight, were perhaps not the best but when we woke on our first morning and had a good look at the bedroom & bathroom/swimming pool/bar/dining area/spa/ etc we were very impressed. For us, it was almost perfect as it provided all we needed and our evening stroll down to the beachside provided good choices of restaurants but the food in the hotel was also very good. The only down side was the bar closed promptly at 11pm and there weren't enough sun umbrellas to provide enough shade, if required, most of the day. There wasn't much shade from trees so more umbrellas would be beneficial I think. Otherwise we were very happy!

Traveller's tip
The mossies seemed to like me so by the time I got home from my ten day trip I was covered in about 15 bites so if you are prone to the little blighters (like me) be prepared with a suitable repellent!!!
