My girlfriend and I visited the city for Alfa Jazz Fest and stayed at Leotel Hotel. This hotel is ideally located between the festival's location and historic downdown - both within 10 min walk. Located in a quiet street, 2 min walk to public transportation. The personnel was superbly welcoming and responsive. They were happy to accomodate our several requests for special arrangements. Rooms are quite basic, but very clean. Breakast is basic, but we liked it. Personally, we don't need more in a city where you don't plan to stay long at hotels anyways. Very clean and nice-looking halls. Excellent value for that price.

I was very happy with my stay at Kavalier Hotel in Lviv, Ukraine. It is a new hotel, completely refurbished and decorated to the highest international standards. The staff were so kind and friendly, completely professional in every way. I had breakfast on two mornings. I had dinner on one evening and must say that the service and cuisine were excellent.
I would recommend this lovely hotel to anyone

"Astoria Hotel - an awesome place to stay in Lviv"
As good as it gets; my wife and I stayed for 2 nights. Rooms are spotless. I mean we went to look for a speck of dust in our room, just to see if we could find any. Staff is friendly, knowledgeable about the city, and speaks fluent English. Breakfast was simply amazing - such breakfast stateside would easily run as much as the hotel was in UA. High speed wireless Internet was about 20 Mbps!

Loved, loved, loved this hotel (of course, one of those "loves" is because they gave me the only room in the Hotel with a balcony overlooking the Old Town--Room 203). But this Hotel was really sweet: it is 1 and 1/2 short blocks from the main city square, the street with some of the best city restaurants is right around the corner (the Armenian Church street), the breakfast is abundant, with lots of hot and cold dishes, the staff goes out of its way to help you accommodate your needs, and - like Lviv in general - the price is very affordable. The building was only recently converted to a Hotel, so it does not have that "used and battered" feel. And while the Hotel offers many services -- free WiFi, minibar, elevator, complimentary newspaper and bottled water, airport shuttle, etc -- about the only negative for me was that there was no coffee/teapot in the room (but the minibar and lounge coffee prices are so inexpensive, this isn't really a huge problem).

I wanted a central location as I wanted to be able to do sight seeing easily and not to have to spend extra money or time travelling far. Also somewhere fairly modern as the last time I stayed in Lviv I had trouble operating the shower and it made me late several times! This accommodation met both these requirements. The furnishings are clean and modern and of a high standard and the bathroom is very modern and clean too. I would agree with a lot of other guest comments about room noise so if you want a quieter room stay at the back although the view from the front is lovely too (I stayed in both room types of room during my stay). Each receptionist I met was more than helpful and anything I needed was dealt with in a helpful, friendly manner. All spoke English well too. Having access to bottled water and a tea/coffee tray in the room was good. There is no problem getting something to eat around and about as Rynok Square is full of restaurants and cafes and there are also many supermarkets nearby if you want to eat cheaply/DIY. Note: this is NOT accommodation for people with mobility problems as there are a lot of stairs and no lift. The airport transfer was booked and dealt with for me with no problem as well. I stayed in Lviv for 4 nights and would definitely stay here again in the future.
