“Nice hotel in Merced, California”

My husband and I liked the overall convenience of your motel. The only thing we could see was that the mattress needed to be changed. It was way too hard for a good nights rest, we are senior citizens and have back problems that were compounded with a hard mattress. You could get new pillows as well. They were located close to Denny,s restaraunt and were very friendly. The motel was very clean and ready when we arrived. They also provided us with a smoking room, my husband was happy at that. Thank you.

“cheap, accepts dogs, and possibly would recommend to a friend”

This was an unexpected overnight stop on our way to Sacramento. This last minute reservation with Expedia was on a cell phone web. I was able to find easily and it accommodated our small dog. Though the room was small it suited us fine. The closeness to the freeway was convenient but the traffic was audible through closed windows. Overall, for being unplanned nights stay it was good.

This hotel is right off the 99 freeway. Very convenient for travellers.

“Too noisy to have a sound sleep! Terrible noisy!”

There is a main road and gas station just beside this hotel. However, the whole house is not so soundproof! You can imagine how terrible noisy in the night by yourself.

“Nice Hotel -- practical & comfortable.”

I just needed a comfortable clean hotel at a reasonable price -- for sleep. And Vagabond Inn was exactly that. And the free wireless was a plus. There's a MacDonald's across the street fwiw. Plenty of parking along long adjoining curb for oversize vehicles (as the bus I drive).

Area recommendations
Yosemite Valley 2 hours away via Mariposa gate on CA-140.

“Pay a little more elsewhere”

If you think this Vagabond Inn is like others you have stayed, you are wrong. We have stayed in 2 other Vagabond Inn (Sacramento and Disneyland) and they were 10 or more times better!!! Very noisy, right by freeway with no noise insulation at all. Dirty, holes in the blankets, we didn't know if it would be cleaner to sleep on the floor or on the bed.
