Hotel near universal studios

Posted 01-Jul-2015
Spent 2 nights at the hotel. Staff was courteous. The room was nice with comfy beds. Pool was refreshing. The free breakfast with cooked to order eggs, omletes, waffles was a plus. Saved our family from having to go out.

I can't wait to visit LA again!

Posted 30-Jun-2015
I stayed 3 night and got the best sleep in years. The staff was great and the morning omelet breakfast bar was excellent. I got a great deal with Expedia and looking forward to my next stay in August. Hopefully Expedia will be having another deal then.

Nice Hotel; Convenient to ALL our needs

Posted 29-Jun-2015
Pros: See above
Cons: Bathroom Upgrades (specifically the BATHTUBs)
Location: See above
A very nice hotel which we found very convenient for ALL our needs and outings in L.A. We found the location close or convenient to virtually everything - from a topnotch grocery to some VERY COOL restaurants. It was very assessable to several Hwys; 101 or 5 were easy to navigate. Hotel itself was very nice and clean; morning buffet breakfasts (incl an ommlette station) were a PLUS; Pool area in a nice setting and the Interior Courtyard WAS VERY PLEASING TO RELAX IN. When in LA again; we'll stay at The HOLLYWOOD HOTEL.

Nice stay blocks away from Children's Hospital.

Posted 29-Jun-2015
Pros: Reasonably priced, close to Children's Hospital LA, good breakfast, clsoe to In N Out.
Cons: Bacon at breakfast.
Location: In N Out and Children's Hospital LA
Great Hotel!!! I arrived and the staff was friendly. They kindly pointed me towards In N Out which was just a quick jog 3.3 miles away. In N Out was fantastic as usual. I at a double double animal style with peppers and topped it off with a John 3:16 chocolate shake. The jog back was quite pleasant down Sunset Blvd. I then enjoed watching the cable TV show Alaska. There were alot of pillows to pick one of the correct density, fluffiness, and size. The Breakfast was next to perfect. Cable TV was also on at breakfast which I was able to watch the historic ruling of the Supreme Court on June 26th, 2015 that will be remembered for the ages. There was no bacon though which was very disappointing but I made the best of breakfast regardless.

Hollywood

The hotel was clean and modern, staff was friendly and helpful with travel plans, shuttle picks you up at the hotel, a few blocks away from Sunset blvd and Hollywood blvd, cute little unique shops and vintage stores. Located near metro and bus lines. Pool is wonderful

Nice hotel close to everything

Posted 26-Jun-2015
Brief two night stay and the only time we have been to LA so we really wanted to maximize our time. This hotel put us close to everything, staff was amazing and excelled, the hotel is older so if you can accept that there are some historical blemishes you are in for a very comfy night on a terrific bed. Great pool outside resort style. We had a great stay and would stay again.

Affordable hotel

Posted 24-Jun-2015
Pros: The morning breakfast and the staff are probably the best things of the hotel.
Cons: Rooms need closets and safety box, and a faster elevator, please.
Location: Is close enough to downtown L.A., just 15 minutes by car to get to the Convention Center.
We come back every year to the hotel, it is just fine for our business trip and affordable.

Okay hotel

The rooms were small, elevators few and slow. For the price there are better hotels available.

Lacking basic things in this hotel

Posted 11-Jun-2015
Pros: location
Cons: Desperately in need of an update of entire of hotel, old small showers
Location: some good restaurants, observatory, hollywood
No bathtubs any longer in this hotel per/staff; convenience store run independently-closed our entire stay; bar closed Sunday-Wednesday (our entire stay); no luggage racks available in rooms; saved on room with expedia, but they recouped money by charging $22/day for parking (unless you were smart enough to sneak in like alot of people); free breakfast had watered down orange juice, tiny slices of fruit and the hash browns tasted like they had been in the freezer for quite awhile before they warmed them up

Good location to Hollywood and attractions

Posted 11-Jun-2015
Pros: Loacation and breakfast.
This hotel was perfectly situated for accessing Hollywood, Six Flags, Dodger Stadium, and Universal Studios. I was disappointed in the room though. The bed was extremely firm, uncomfortable and squeaky. Bathroom and toilet were small. The location where the fridge and microwave were was pitiful. There should be a shelf built in to set the microwave on and other items. Instead of stacking it right on top of the fridge. The breakfast was really good though. All the food and juices were fresh. Omelette station was outstanding and waffles were the best per my 14 year old.
