Nice hotel close in the middle of everything

Nice hotel. Close to a lot of the main attractions of L.A. Secure parking. Nice staff. Clean and comfortable room. There were some renovations being done but my room was fine.

Fantastic hotel!

My family and I loved this hotel. The hotel was very clean and the staff were very helpful and friendly. Great location and perfect for public transport. I would definitely recommend the Hollywood Hotel and would go back any time!!

Good value for the money and great location!

Posted 07-Nov-2014
The hotel met all of our expectations - clean, great staff, secure and the location. Our room was very large and comfortable. The staff was pleasant and helpful. The parking fee of $24 extra per day was offset by a gated and secure parking lot and an included hot breakfast. We would definitely stay at The Hollywood Hotel in the future!!

It is an old hotel that needs updating, but has a charm to it.

Good value at price I paid.

Pros: See above
Cons: See above
Location: Pretty blah
Hotel is older 4star in need of and getting some renovations. Obvious signs of wear everywhere. Included breakfast very good generally with omelet station. Some desk workers much better than most. Cleaning staff fast and very accommodating. Bizarre bar opening hours. Elevators super slow. But, re-read the title.

Great Weekend Getaway

Posted 02-Nov-2014
Pros: The bed was super comfortable and the hot tub was absolutely amazing!
Cons: The light in the room was cracked, there wasn't a mat in front of the spa, didn't have wine glasses
Location: lots of museums, bars, clubs, restaurants.
My boyfriend and I came here to celebrate his birthday last weekend and while hotel and room had nice amenities, there were a few things that could have been updated. There was no room service which was a bummer, just a bunch of delivery menus from nearby places which were mostly closed on a Friday night! It was a great location though and close to everywhere we wanted to go.

Not at all what I expected

Posted 29-Oct-2014
Pros: Breakfast buffet included in price New TV in room
Cons: See above review
Location: Not a good area. Maybe you can go to the clinic or grab a cheap burrito, because that's all that's around besides the dollar store. Sirens 24-7
I'm from NJ, so when I saw "Hollywood Hotel," I thought downtown and centrally located. Well the name sure is misleading. This hotel is in an undesirable area where I didn't feel safe walking around by myself as a tourist, and was not walking distance to any attractions or neighborhoods a tourist would want to see. In all fairness maybe I should've done my homework, but I saw a good deal in "Hollywood" and pounced, and now I know why it was so cheap. The whole hotel is undergoing extensive renovations, which are NOT advertised or disclosed at the time of purchase. I paid for my room in full, in advance, and was displeased when I arrived to find sections of flooring ripped up and roped off (difficult and dangerous to navigate with luggage), construction going on right outside the doors of rooms and above you all day long starting in the AM, molding and baseboards ripped off the walls, paint and dust, etc. I also had to switch my room 3 times - VERY LOUD AC, smelly, dirty bed linens, dirty sink, standing water in tub and dripping faucet, etc. Even though I paid in full over a month ago, I was asked for $100 deposit/hold and that was all the money I had left after traveling all week. Maybe that's my fault, but it did not say anywhere in my transaction or confirmation that I'd be asked for a deposit upon arrival when I already paid. What's done of the new flooring so far looks nice, but this place needs a massive overhaul, including AC system and elevators. Won't be back

Pleasantly Surprised how nice hotel was

Posted 22-Oct-2014
Pros: Location, staff, and the nicely decorated guest sitting areas
Cons: Chairs and tables would be nice on the balconies.
Location: Location is good for metro and bus, not sure what there is to do nearby
The hotel is smaller with great reception staff who were friendly and helpful. Bobby was patient with us when checking in and Cecile was great by printed us maps to help us get around. The breakfast was good, and the outdoor sitting area on the third floor was so nice to sit on after a day of travelling. The location is great for using public transportation as it is very close to the metro and bus. We were pleasantly surprised by how nice the hotel was.
