“Small, Cozy room with excellent amenities”
We reached the hotel late at night. Reception was prompt in arranging our room. At first look, the room looked small. But it was well maintained and most important had good amenities including a mini-fridge and a microwave. Parking was available and free. Internet was working and had decent speed. The access to the hotel is really comfortable because of its proximity to the freeway exit. It was quite convenient to reach this place from universal studios and then to go to the Griffith's observatory. We had been warned from previous reviews about noise from the adjoining freeway. It was audible, but was not loud at all nor did it disturb our sleep in any way. There was free continental breakfast offered but only from 6-9 AM. We landed up missing this. We had lunch at a really nice Italian restaurant just two minutes walk from this hotel. There were other eating options as well. Overall, reasonable place, value for money especially if you want to spend just one or two nights, while spending the day moving around LA.
“The location was good, but I didn't like the hotel.”
The hotel staff were all super friendly and helpful. The hotel was close to universal, but I didn't feel safe in the hotel's neighborhood.
“would not recommend”
the rooms were small, stunk and the matresses were way too sofl, could not turn in bed. every time i sat on the bed I thought I would fall off. we were on the third floor and the elevator smelled of dogs. the complimentary breakfast area was tiny, not room to turn around, let alone to sit and eat...
“Wet rooms and overpriced”
There is no lobby, a lady sitting in the reception area was looking at us suspiciously when we reached there around 11 pm. The flooring of the room we checked into was wet around the bed so it was not possible to walk naked feet. I got to know only when I moved all my luggage in the room and removed my shoes. So it was not possible for me to move to another room. The breakfast was average and it was in a very small room. I was lucky as I was there just for one night but it was a not a very pleasant end of our California trip. I could have paid 10 bucks extra and stayed in a better hotel.
“Good Price for a Two Star in LA Area”
The room was good for a two star. Beds comfortable, and a nice medium size flat screen TV. The motel is a little on the old side, and it is a motel, not a hotel. You can see the wear and tear on the rooms, but the are kept to an acceptable standard - remember, it is a two star. Things are pricy in LA, so we got a decent deal price-wise. We selected the area, and booked via Expedia's secret hotel deal - you get a hotel in the area that meets the star requirement, but you do not know the name until you book - remember these bookings are non-refundable. Typical breakfast (waffles, toast, cereal, coffee, jucie, etc.), but cramped into a small arae - it gets crowded fast - take it to your room and go back if you need to. Our room was over the office, facing the street outside, and right near the highway - little noisy, so if you are a light sleeper, then make sure to get a room toward the back of the motel (by the pool area). Pool is very tiny - we saw nobody using it. Pizza Hut and a fast chicken joint right across the street. This is not a place I would go stay to relax and enjoy myself, but rather a place to sleep and use as a hub for travel in the area. This motel served its purpose.
“Value based Hotel”
Stayed two nights and needed a hotel that was inexpensive and conveniently located to Dodger Stadium. We arrived a little early and they let us check-in early so that was very nice of them. The room was clean and the beds were reasonably comfortable so you could enjoy the nice large flat panel TV. It was exactly what I expected for the value price we paid. The major issue with this hotel is that it is right on the freeway so there is traffic noise, especially if you are on the second floor. My suggestion is to get a room on the first floor preferrably on the far side of the building away from the freeway. The hotel is also very close to a shopping mall if that is of interest to you.
“Convenient location”
The hotel is conveniently located, close to various LA freeways. Our second floor corner room was larger than usual and clean and quiet. The elevator was very helpful.
“business LA”
The motel is conveniently located in Eagle Rock, just east of Glendale, with good freeway access. The room was bigger than expected and the decor was fine. You can tell it is an older motel but still in good condition. The bed was one of the most comfortable I have slept in while travelling. Free continental breakfast, but there are also nearby restaurants in Glendale.
