“Unimpressed”

I can't remember the last time I stayed in the hotel which had a shower and sink in the bedroom but no toilet. Just bizarre!

“Excellent Hotel”

I loved my stay at the Lancaster! Very clean, the staff was extremely friendly and helpful, and the neighborhood is nice and convenient. Cannot recommend enough.

Area recommendations
Do walk around Bloomsbury and SoHo.

“unacceptable”

Good location and spacious room but no toilets in room unacceptable for price, plus my luggage was not securely stored on checkout but merely left for the whole day in lobby which is also unacceptable.

“Lancaster Hotel in London”

Toilets not in rooms and they were share with all on the same floor. it felt more like a bed and breakfast place

“will use again”

Hotel was well placed with short walk to the British Museum, also short walk to Holborn Central Line underground station which was very convenient for getting to the main tourist sites of London such as Westminster, St Paul's cathedral etc.. and the shops on Oxford and Bond Streets. Hotel was clean, good rooms, does breakfasts and room meals. Good value for money. /

Area recommendations
Bloomsbury in London is well located for British Museum and easy access to other tourist sites using the Cental Line from Hokborn.

The fact that the rooms have no private bath is not declared during the reservation process.

“Horrible hotel, if you've booked cancel.”

The worst hotel I have ever stayed in, so bad that it has made me reconsider ever booking with Expedia again.

“Very hard to find!!”

It was a clean hotel and the room was very good but we were disappointed that we didn't know the bathroom was out in the hall. Also, we had to climb two flights of narrow stairs to get to our room. Everyone was very helpful and they gave us a good map to use. Wish they had let us use their phone for a short call but can understand why it is their policy. Each call we made from our room cost one pound. We were told by Expedia that we would have to climb some stairs but didn't know they would be so narrow and up two flights.

“Good location but be sure to read the fine print: shared toilet”

We were in a hurry to book a hotel near the British Museum, saw the 3-star rating, but regret that we didn't read the fine print about the shared toilet down the hall. As extremely experienced travelers, we found the description very misleading is this regard. This hotel is one of several properties under the same management on this street which is a great location, especially if you want to visit the museum or eat-out at any number of great restaurants within walking distance. The staff at the hotel is very helpful and friendly and the rooms are tidy, however, we do not believe that it deserves a 3-star rating.

Traveller's tip
If you like Indian cuisine, ask for directions to Mela, a restaurant across from the Odeon Theatre.
