“location location location”
Great location across road from Hyde Park and above tube station. Concierge very helpful. Swan pub 1 minute's walk away has live musician Friday, Saturday Sunday. Our room was listed as park view - stretching it a bit -
“excellent stay”
We booked a park view room but on arrival we did not get what we were expecting. However, after a request for more appropriate room, we were very satisfied and enjoyed or stay very much. The staff were very helpful and the food was great. Will definately go there again in the future.
“Pleasantly surprised”
Only a 5 minute walk to Oxford Street and conveniently located close to Paddington Station which has a 15 minute express train connection to Heathrow. The hotel is very comfortable, rooms have everything a business person needs. Although a bit on the small side, they're all you need. Would definitely stay there again
“Great location - service could be better”
Stayed for 5 nights - great location, hotel is clean, well maintained, comfortable rooms were large enough and reasonably well appointed. Great location opposite Hyde Park and above an underground station. Service was a bit lacking ie internet access service was problematic and expensive and concierge service lacked initiative and responsiveness. Having said that if they had a gym I would probably stay there again.
“Affordable, central, best views”
We've stayed at the Lancaster a few times and will come back again. The location, just above a central line tube station, is unbeatable.
“I will definitely return.”
The staff was efficient, courteous, and friendly. The room was spacious by London standards and well equipped. I go to the UK twice a year and will stay again at the Lancaster while in London. I attend the the theatre frequently and the nearness of the tube and ease of getting a taxi were attractive features. Well done, Lancaster London.
“Excellen location but could do a bit more effort on service.”
I like staying at Lancaster as this is just on the Lancaster Gate tube station and across the Hyde Park. The hotel is very comfortable, rooms are big (for London standards). The service could be better. On one occassion I was charged the full amount of my stay at check-in and on another I was offered a non-smoking room in which someone just smoked in the bathroom! Good for me was hotel's acceptance of their mistakes and compensation offered: a free upgrade to a suite and a complimentary breakfast respectively.
“Handy Location”
The Lancaster London's location makes it easy to get around London. We walked most days when we could or used the Tube located literally just around the corner. Also well served by buses. Having stayed in London several times in the past we were surprised by the size of the room and the overall cleanliness and service at the hotel. We'll definately consider staying here again on our next visit to London.
“Not bad for a London Hotel”
Opted to stay here so I could easily run in the park in the mornings! Fantastic. Hotel lobby and public areas very nice, good reception and check-in, restaurants also very nice - Thai looked excellent but a little stuffy, but the Island Restaurant and Bar...great food and nice environment. Rooms were better than I expected with good attention from evening staff offering fresh towels or any other assistance. Good TV with good range of channels in nice clear HD. Weakest points were WiFi - no coverage in the room, and the bathroom which hasn't had a serious makeover for some time, the giveaway being the beige/avocado coloured suite and the flaking/peeling stucco ceiling. Clean, great shower (despite the shower curtain) and very usable facility, just took the shine off an otherwise very nice room.
“Fantastic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”
Only stayed for 1 night, but it was lush! It was my first ever visit to London, and it could not have gone smoother, mostly down to the great service at The Lancaster London. Literally on top of Lancaster Gate tube station so very easy to get anywhere in the city without any real effort. Had a "park view" room on the 15th floor and i have to say the view was breathtaking! The room was spotless, the staff were excellent and very friendly, room service was delicious and actually very cheap! Would definitely stay again =D
