"The first thing I noticed was a broken down car being worked on in the parking lot. Our room was next door to my daughter’s room for convenience. Immediately we noticed there was toilet paper in the toilet and the air conditioning was pumping hot air. When asking for another room, the hotel staff said there had been problems with the HVAC in that area. We were changed to a room two doors down which had air conditioning but no trash cans and the shower was slow draining, There were people (mostly men) hanging outside of their rooms whom looked like tenants. One man was walking around without his shirt on, and another with a hot plate outside of his room making chili. I saw a woman in a bathrobe and slippers two days in a row. The ice machine was not working. Finally there was a car in the parking lot that looked like it hadn’t moved in awhile. There was a box and blanket underneath where a cat was lying down.
I realize Morel 6 now caters to potentially homeless people and rent out long term. The Motel resembles more like low income housing with broken down cars. My daughter paid $5.00 extra and had a microwave and fridge. Our room was completely bare and when we asked for a trash bin, the staff never brought us one. They couldn’t locate one."
"The room is what you expect for the price, no frills but it works. We had a back room so it was quiet. We had a room that was connected so when the neighbors opened their door it would sound like someone opened our door, which scared me in the night."
"The room was clean and comfortable but the walls are paper thin. The guests next door to me were having a conversation and I could hear every word as well as the noise of their coffee pot brewing at 5am. Also, it would be nice if the rooms had some information about the local area or amenities available. Perhaps a menu from the hotel's restaurant, "Dave's Place". After a long day of traveling, would be nice to order a meal to have in the room."
"This version is about 1,200 characters and should fit easily:
I booked this hotel because of its high rating and description, which made it sound like a great family-friendly property with arcade games. Traveling with three kids, that was a major reason I chose it. Unfortunately, it was one of the most disappointing hotel stays I’ve had.
The advertised “arcade” was essentially just a pool table area. There were no actual arcade games for kids. Had I known that, I would have booked somewhere else.
The room had numerous maintenance problems. My key card stopped working repeatedly, forcing me to go back to the front desk four times to have it reset. Several electrical outlets didn’t work, a lamp wouldn’t turn on, and the room phone was completely dead. When I reported these issues, I was told they had been replacing a lot of phones lately, but no real solution was offered.
The shower faucet barely worked and had to be turned excessively hard before water would come out. The pool looked cloudy and green, and the hot tub was tiny and didn’t appear particularly clean.
Breakfast the next morning was also very disappointing.
Overall, I feel the property is significantly overrated and does not match the expectations created by its rating and description. I wish I had stayed elsewhere and would not recommend this hotel to families looking for the amenities that are advertised."
"Good location, older building, door to room had daylight coming through on sides and bottom, bathroom is what one would expect for the price, over all a decent stay for the price."
"This was the best hotel on my eight day motorcycle trip. The manager was extremely helpful and extremely polite. We happen to see each other outside and he inquired about my satisfaction with the room. I loved the fact that there was an electric tea kettle, very comfortable bed, great refrigerator, and an excellent smart TV. I was able to park my Harley right outside of my door which was also a bonus. The manager‘s name was Mike and he is a gem! I don’t know if I’ll ever be back in Lompoc but should I find myself in your town? I will definitely stay with you again. Thank you very much, Howard Harrow."
"The husband and wife tandem went above and beyond to accomadate my need for quarters to do some laundry on their premises! And the rooms were exceptionally clean comfy quiet and the hot water was never ending for a relaxing bath.. I’m a landscaper on base at vandenberg so I need a hot soak thanx so much for being so hospitable can’t wait to return🙏Respectfully Brian MM"
