“very good”
the hotel is going through a refurbishment at the moment but it did not impact on our holiday in anyway the staff were very helpful and friendly It would have been nice to have a cooked breakfast but what the hotel provided was a good choice
“Not impressed, room information very misleading”
Staff were very friendly but completely misled about the room: the booking options I had was room with breakfast or without breakfast. The websites (both Expedia and the Hotel's) said that all rooms come with TV sets and power showers. My room had neither, only a bath! I could have gone without the TV but I needed fast access to a shower in the morning and was left with no choice but to buy a portable shower kit from Argos to hook up to the bath taps. Only one power socket in the room that worked and it was nowhere near the tables with the lamp and electric kettle. Also WiFi did not work in the hotel room. Unable to switch rooms as the hotel was fully booked. The only good thing about it was the price and the convenience of the location - right next to Liverpool Lime Street station.
“Beware of this delapidated hotel”
Hotel needs a lot f money spending on it, Shower not functioning, breakfast very poor, greasy cafe down the road was much better and offered 10 times better breakfast. We will certainly not be returning again. The only good point was the friendlyness of the staff.
“Lord Nelson? Nah”
I was a little bummed at what I got in the hotel. I had spent a whole day traveling from Helsinki to London to Manchester then to Liverpool and while I very much liked how the hotel was near Lime Street Station it didn't have a shower. So I had to run a bath which took forever because it must have taken 10-15 minutes just for the hot water to kick in. I guess for the price it was alright, but if you are coming to Liverpool, spend a little more money walk from the train to the waterfront (10-15 minutes) and pay a little more for better digs, I know I will be doing that the next time I'm on Merseyside.
“Friendly down-home scouser service”
This is a budget hotel with a big heart and very friendly people. Perfectly placed for my needs at the central Library. Not many amenities but a real Liverpool experience. I really enjoyed hanging out at the hotel bar and watching the footie. Its not the best location in town but a safe and interesting environment--walking down past the Empire theater and the little pubs along the way was a nice way to get to the Hotel.
“Basic, cheap, no frills & right next to Train Station. You get what you pay for.”
Having read previous reviews of this hotel I knew that I was in for a no frills experience. The hotel staff were helpful and provided all the information that was needed. When I found my room it proved to be much smaller than I thought. This maybe have been down to having arrived after 10.30pm. There was a single bed with a sink and mirror. Bath (no shower) and toilet was in a separate room. The width of the room was probably just over 2x the width of a single bed. Like I said I didn't expect much so it lived up to my expectations. If you are looking for a very central, very cheap hotel this will tick the boxes. Just be aware that you shouldn't expect too much for what you're paying. Saying that it was adequate for my needs.
“Good enough!”
You get what you pay for. Sure, the room was tiny and there was a labyrinth of corridors to get to it, but, it was clean, the bathroom was the right size and worked great. Plus it was rather quiet (room on inside court). Staff nice and helpful, once you've got past the Liverpool accent, breakfast OK. It's not a 4-star hotel, but hey, I didn't pay for a 4-star hotel.
“OK for a night”
Stopped in a standard room. Very very basic accommodation. No shower (but a bath) and no television in room. Just sheets on bed (there was an optional "prison blanket"). Best points about hotel was closeness to train station (over the road).
“Not impressed”
Room had no shower, just a dirty old bath with no hot water. No TV. No hairdryer and none available. Dirty sheets, matress, floor, cups. Window wouldn't shut properly - constant draft in room. Room right beside noisy antiquated lift. Constant noise from drunkards in corridors all night. Cleaning staff entered our room with no warning 20 minutes before check out time as we were getting dressed. Good location but still to be avoided at all costs.
“Good for budget travelers”
The hotel is just what it is said in Expedia, you get what you need a coffee machine, your bathroom and your bed. Its location just a block away from the Lime Street train station is great.
