Enjoy the outdoors during your time in the coastal town of Izola with a visit to Lighthouse Park. This inviting green space encompasses expansive lawns, a beach, aromatic Mediterranean perennial plants and a lighthouse.
Go for a run, play some ball games or take a leisurely stroll around the attractive surroundings. Any children with you may want to burn off some energy on the extensive swings and climbing apparatus at the children's playground

Follow the wide brick path to the lighthouse at Rooster Cape, which is part of the park. The navigational aid is quite small and not open to the public, but you can enjoy gorgeous sea views from the grassy spot next to it. Nearby is a beach. If you are in Izola in June, attend the Kino Otok film festival, which takes place in the park. This international event features the work of Slovenian and other European directors. Lighthouse Park is open daily and admission is free. Find plenty of metered parking spaces and car parks close to the park. Alternatively, walk or bike here. The town is small and its places of interest lie close to each other. After your park visit, explore other Izola sights. The Old Town is less than a 5-minute walk away and contains several important buildings. These include the 11th-century Church of St. Mary of Haliaetum, the Gothic-style Municipal Palace and a railway history museum.
