The Beachcomber is a smaller hotel about 20 mins east of Sosua. The rooms were simple and clean. Some of the rooms have been updated and only a couple have A/C. I don't think any room has T.V.(It was nice not to have) but they do have Wifi. We had an updated 2 bedroom 2 bath room with A/C (loved the A/C). The room was large enough for at least 2 couples, or a few kids. It had a sitting area with some love seats, a dinning table and a small refrigerator. They had safes but you do not need them as the area is safe and there is always an armed guard at night. The hotel sits directly on the beach. There are not any other hotels around so the only people you will see on the beach are the people at the Beachcomber and locals. We were there in October and had the place to ourselves. Luis(Lewis) the manager and his staff were great. Lewis speaks English and is a great person, warm and friendly and willing to do anything that we needed. He was able to coordinate taxis and trips to various parts of the island and at great rates. They have surf boards to rent at the hotel and Luis and his girlfriend are great surfers and can set up lessons if desired. Our rate included breakfast, lunch and dinner and was individually prepared. We ate under the large cabana which also has a bar, pool table and ping pong. The Beachcomber was exactly what we wanted small, off the beaten path, low key place with a personal touch. I wish I was there right now
