“Solid AI experience”
Food is surprisingly good for the price although I did notice some cutbacks over last year's stay at the same time. Free drinks are adequate except the beer which is above average, since there is Presidente on tap at multiple locations. If you like better mixed drinks there is a pay bar on the Palace side of the resort, drinks there are great and very reasonably priced. A large Cuba Libre with 3oz. of quality rum is only ~$4 USD. The non-alcoholic beverages are very good, expresso drinks, fresh, delicious juices and the usual sodas. If you have stayed here before it is important to note that the beds are much improved in 2011. Quality is what you would expect from a 3.5-4 stars hotel in US. Activities are outstanding: Cataman, windsurfing, many other water sports incldued in the price along with free lessons. Volleyball, soccer, pool sports, well designed activities to get you involved. One drawback is that locals are offered special weekend packages not available to others. This means while hotel occupancy is probably 20% midweek in October it jumps to 100% on weekends. Tends to get louder and there may be some buffet lines on the weekend, personally doesn't bother me you can always head over to the much quieter white pool or the beach if you need a break from the bustle of the weekend main pool area.
“All inclusive, right on the beach.”
Viva Tangerine was perfect for me, single traveller going out for a surprise family party. I had been to Cabarete before so knew a small amount about the area, great beach bars come restaurants. Cabarete is small(ish) but well set up for the tourist trade, everyone has a smile on there face and greets you with enthusiasm,,,,,, they want your money! The hawkers on the beach really are the worst that Cabarete has to offer (in my limited experience) but if you make the eye contact only to say 'no gracias senior' then look away and after a few seconds 90% move on. The hotel itself was as expected, slightly dated. The room safe did not work, flat batteries but I did not bother to report it, so cannot say how good/bad the response would have been. Cleaning was daily and good. The room itself was bigger than I expected having bedroom, bathroom and a sitting room with what looked like a settee come pull out bed. Facilities were also above expectations, great looking pool, outside theatre for nightly live shows, restaurants, bars and a nightly disco up in the 'loft'. The best for me was the food. Fantastic choice and it all tasted great, breakfast, lunch and dinner. Final tip, a one Dollar US bill is all it takes to say thank you for good service. So make sure you take a good supply, if you want to! Would I go back? You bet I would.
“The staff are fantastic, I love this place”
This is my 3rd trip to this resort this year. I have had a blast each and every time. This resort is clean, efficient and friendly. The staff employed here work from morning to night to make sure the guests have a great holiday. From the moment you leave the lobby and turn the corner you enter a cascade of lovely gardens. It is a small resort which makes everything seem close. The animation team work so hard at keeping the guests busy with a lot of activities during the day and a great show at night. The wait and bar staff are always more then helpful. The maids keep the room spotless. I love this resort and will definitely return soon. When one takes a vacation to a developing country one must remember that you are a guest in their country. Try to step outside and take in how Dominicans really live. Try to experience the country. It is very safe to go to Caberete during the day and travel with friends in the evening. You will have a great time. There are a lot of nice restaurants and discos to experience.
“Overall very happy”
We had a good time. Very good location - watersport, Cabarete Center is perfect to go out: restaurants, etc. Minutes away from windsurf/kitesurf rental centers. Food is ok, you can always find something good and not too greasy. Spa Beauty Center is not impressive at all. We are pleased with our stay and would go back.
“Traveler from PA”
People that work there are rude and they never let you enjoy your vacation. Vendors on the beach never leave you alone. My family got sick and they wouldn't do anything for us.The food wasn't that good and it looked like they used the same food for breakfast, lunch and dinner at the buffet. They only had only one bartender working at the bar and you had to wait for ten minutes most of the time. There is no internet service in the rooms for privacy.Only in public areas were everyone can see your emails and personal business. The only thing that was good were the shows at night.
“Viva Wyndham”
I have a few problems with hot water at the hotel and rip off a few times by the driver.
“maybe we will go back but stay at the Tangerine Palace”

“Going back in October”
