“Convenient location”

Staffs are friendly and kind, reception staff proved to be very helpful. The location is very close to Como Lago railway station, bus terminal and boat terminal. The breakfast consists of Coffee, tea & juice, cereals, yoghurt, fruit, bread, ham, cheese, cakes, pastries etc. The opposite of the hotel is a supermarket which sells food, very useful; however our rooms peace was disturbed every morning at 6am when the shop was replenished and rubbish nosily cleared. Being right in the centre of things there was a lot of evening noise some from music and to be expected excited chatty voices at a local outside restaurant. We prefer windows open in hot weather but hotel solved problems with giving us the air conditioner controller and with windows closed, slept well.

Getting there

How to get there from Linate airport - Get No. 73 or X73 bus to San Babila station – takes about 20 minuets, then get tube to Milano Cadorna station. Get ticket from the machine first: easy & in English. Buy another train ticket to Como Lago station by Le Nord. The total cost is less than half of that of using airport shuttle bus and a fast train from Milan Central station to Como San Giovanni station, and more frequent services. We found public transport extremely good value and reliable.

Must see

We used bus to go to Bellagio and visited the Villa del Balbianello. The view from bus was very nice. Also we came back by boat to Como and it was very enjoyable view. Also went to see gardens at Villa Carlotta.

Dining

The cost of dining at restaurants generally is very expensive especially in the evening. We found a friendly smaller café a smaller range on the menu but very tasty. Café Fontana at Via Fontana, 21 22100 Como.
