Disliked: Cleanliness, amenities
Is a very old hotel. Carpets are worn and smelly. Cigarettes smell through out the hotel. The pluses are, good buffet dinner, good breakfast, and great staff. The hotel is next to the fjord which gets beautiful views in the morning.
I was a bit hesitant about the Laerdal Hotel because the reviews weren’t great, but I was pleasantly surprised. The room was perfectly fine, with a beautiful view of the lake, and it was incredibly quiet outside. The walls were thin, so you could sometimes hear the neighbours, but with earplugs it wasn’t an issue. Breakfast was alright, nothing special, but the buffet dinner was excellent, with a wide choice of fish, meats, and fresh salads. Definitely a positive stay.
Nice location, clean property, healthy and tasty breakfast and easy parking. Overall, had an amazing experience at the property

The hotel is right on the water, beautiful scenery and location and convenient to get to and from Flam. Looked like some tour buses bringing in people for probably just an overnight stay there.
The breakfast is fine with enough options but the dinner buffet is overpriced. We ate dinner at the hotel once because we were just fairly tired and not many options around the area.
The hotel itself is a bit dated and need a little TLC.
Laerdal hotel is gem between Oslo and Bergen. The fjord views from my balcony were absolutely breathtaking.
I enjoyed having a spacious room with a roomy bathroom.
The location is very peaceful and everything we needed for our over night stay was in walking distance.
The staff was were friendly and spoke English fluently.
Parking was surprisingly free, which is non existent for many hotels.
Breakfast was buffet style.
Timing is important if you want to avoid chaotic feel due to large tourist groups.
A very beautiful setting, one of the nicest hotels we have ever stayed at. The park across the fjord is full of interesting Norwegian families, lots of children.
It was fun watching them playin the water.
Nestled in one of Norway's many fjords, the location of this property it top notch. It's a small community, so it is very quiet, so you are able to relax and enjoy the natural beauty all around you. Balcony overlooking the fjord was a nice touch.
Spacious a d clean twin room. Good location with great lawn area seating on the side of a calm fjord bay, with dramatic mountains on both sides. Nearby town has lovely old buildings and nice cafe at the arts centre. Dinner buffet was expensive but very well stocked with various foods, and breakfast also plentiful
