Great location by the water. Was probably a very nice property back in the day, but needs a lot of updating. Historic charm and friendly service. Limited options for restaurants nearby. Breakfast was very good, plentiful options.

The room view and large deck were amazing. Position & view over fjord perfect. But it was hot and room had no air conditioner. Small fan useless. Hotel & rooms quite dated. Limited room for bags. Restaurant dinner menu very limited. Very surprised no facilities for EV charging. Very poor value for money (expensive).

Beautiful old hotel with a fantastic restaurant and gorgeous view of the fjord. There is access to kayaks and a sauna (the hot tub was out of order when we were there) for a fee.

Hotel is in bad condition, bad smells everywhere, not clean, staff is not trained and confused. The location could be great, but this is not worth your stay.

The service was wonderful. Cozy and lovely facility. They had kayak rentals which was the highlight of my trip! Also the staff (Trine) and her father went out of their way to help us when my son experienced a medical emergency. All the necessary calls were made to schedule a dr visit and we were even driven to and from the medical facility. We will never forget their kindness.

Hotel with a very nice view. The hotel is a bit old but that did not bother us during our stay. There are NO restaurants/food places nearby (other than the hotel's own restaurant. We ordered two pizzas and both came with burnt base). That made the experience a bit bad.

The Leikanger Fjord Hotel is a dated property which seems to primarily cater to tour groups. While they have attempted to update portions of the hotel, some areas are obviously worn. For instance, in our room the bathroom was recently remodeled, but the sleeping area looked like circa 1970s, complete with a wall-mounted but non-functional radio! There are virtually NO other eating options in Leikanger other than the hotel, which served a mediocre typical Norwegian buffet. Adequate and reasonable for the cost, but certainly not worth repeating. If you don’t have a car, there is virtually nothing to do in Leikanger or its vicinity. While bus traffic going east is fairly frequent, return trips westward are few and far between, making careful logistical planning paramount. Busses are luxurious and remarkably inexpensive - from Leikanger to Balestrand including a ferry ride was only NEK 80 for the 1.5 hour trip! Renting a car and driving the virtually one lane roads on the shore of the Sognefjord is not recommended for the faint of heart, sharing the road with said busses, trucks, farm vehicles, etc. requires pulling over in turnouts when the road narrows at critical curves. In short, DO NOT stay in Leikanger unless you are fully cognizant of your transportation and dining options. Sogndal (a larger community to the east) or Balestrand to the west are better options.

Das Hotel erscheint auf den Fotos sehr hübsch. Unser Zimmer war sauber und geräumig. Die Einrichtung hat die besten Tage hinter sich, aber es ist noch ok. Das Frühstück ist sehr gut und ausreichend Auswahl. Das Ambiente der öffentlichen Räume ist schon besonders schön. Alt aber sehr gut erhalten und Besonders. Der Garten vor dem Haus Richtung Gewässer ist sehr schön... die Aussicht ist es auch, wenn man wie wir ein Zimmer mit diesem Ausblick hat. Negativ ist mir die Holzfassade des Gebäudes aufgefallen. Hier sollte sehr bald eine Instandhaltung statt finden, bevor das Holz ungeschützt weiteren Schaden nimmt.
