Super Hotel direkt an der Strandpromenade!

Sehr gepflegtes Hotel direkt an der Strandpromenade. Personal ist sehr hilfsbereit und reagiert sehr schnell bei Problemen (Dusche funktionierte nicht, innerhalb 5min neues Zimmer bekommen). Alles sehr gepflegt. WLAN könnte jedoch etwas schneller sein.

It's getting old.

It is falling down. Needs face lift and renovation. No tooth paste/ brush Tissue roll holder needed fixing Breakfast need some attention. Staff was very friendly n accommodating.

Pros: Der altmodische Stiel.
Location: Direkte Strandnähe.
Entspannter Strand,viel Sicherheitspersonal. Richtung City,und City gewöhnungsbedürftig!!!

Okay for the Price -There`s worse in Durban.

Pros: This time , not much ,really .
Cons: Bathroom in poor state.Inadequate parking facilities.
Location: Dodgy corner (safe this time) , high police presence but things change very fast in Durban -check most recent review before booking.
I have stayed before at the hotel ,but noticed that this time standards have been lower.The shower was a mess -it leaked over onto the floor ,everytime we used it, and after a few minutes most of the bathroom floor was flooded.We complained but because it was not a plumbing cause , they said to use extra towels ,on the floor ,to absorb the water! Staff are friendly .Breakfast and the restaurant (with friendly staff) remain the hotel`s assests.The rest need an upgrade.Parking is inadequate ,even though you pay additionally for parking.The car park is small so your vehicle is taken and parked elsewhere ,in another car park.When we returned to the hotel ,in the evenings , we still had to sort out the parking.

Mixed feelings

We had a very poor reception when we arrived and our room was so smaill that we could not open both our suitcases on the floor at the same time. Air conditioning was not very effective with 33 degrees. Other rooms we saw were very nice and hotel has been maintained very well. Restaurant was very good and breakfast buffet was lovely. Some staff were very friendly and helpful and others not so.

Had a good stay at the balmoral, staff were helpful and the accomadtion clean and tidy. Good price and quality If you are staying in durban and need to be by the beachfront.

This hotel is a bit tired but there really aren't too many other choices in Durban. If you have to stay in Durban then this hotel is situated on the beachfront which sounds great except it's dangerous to venture out at night time. It is close to a Moyo restaurant & the aquarium. If you want a really nice place to stay drive north 25 minutes & stay in Umhlanga.
