“Good Location”

Efficient check in surprised receptionist did not point out there was a lift to our second floor room a bit tired after four hour train journey. We requested a front room after reading a previous review nice bright a bit too warm room but easy enough to have windows open although not at night a bit noisy in early hours. Very clean although bottles of water in room only available on first day. Lovely buffet breakfast friendly staff had dinner one night not great for vegetarian and some menus were only for specific nights not stated on menu. Our thanks to our receptionist who allowed us to check in for our flight next day.

Traveller's tip
This was our second trip to Krakow last one 9 years ago and we did notice a difference. Found a great vegetarian restaurant the last time we were there came across it againVega Bary Wegetarianskie ul SW. Gertrudy 7 great food at good prices some staff a bit surly but food made up for this. We stayed in Kazimierz area so much to see and slower pace than in old town We did an organised tour to the salt mine, went to auschwitz last time may be a bit more expensive but convenient.

“A good hotel in Kracow”

This hotel was conveniently located for the "old town" and "jewish quarter" in Kracow. The room was bigger than usual and very comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was reasonable but the toaster was slow and small. We used the trams quite a bit but it was only a 15-20 minute walk to the old town area. Would recommend this hotel to friends.

“Good for its price”

The hotel is small, the staff is nice but their English is somehow limited. The breakfast is good and abundant. I had a very terrible night when a group of Polish teenagers arrived at 1 am and they were horsing around, yelling, bouncing and even call me on the phone. They didn't stop until 3:30 am and I had to go to the reception's desk to complain for the noise. I know this is not the hotel's fault but I read other reviews and found that this is common, so be advice, noisy people tend to be guests of this hotel.

Traveller's tip
It was difficult to get there from the train station. You can take tram 10 and walk from the stop to Jozefa street and a couple of blocks away you'll find the hotel in a corner. It is located outside Cracow's downtown, but it is easy to get there and the walk is beautiful. It is close to the Jew quarter, but the synagogues aren't as beautiful as the ones in Prague

“Very impressed, great short break”

Nice hotel, super location, plentiful breakfasts. Plenty of cheap local bars and restaurants. Within walking distance of all the major attractions.

Traveller's tip
Don't use taxis, public transport - especially trams - extremely efficient and cheap. Also use the free bus and rail shuttle from the airport to the city centre.

“Not bad!”

This place was good for the price - good bathroom and very clean but the beds aren't the comfiest and it would be nice if the cleaners wouldn't shout to each other for hours in the morning!

“with an excellent location”

in the heart of the old jewish area the hotel quickly becomes your home from home. The staff are courteous and attentive speaking excellent english, putting our efforts in polish to shame! Our stay was on a bab basis and the breakfast offered was ok,otherwise we have to say with nearby szeroca street just a stroll away with lowish cost michelin available along with excellent traditional polish and "jewish"style restaurants we were so spoiled for choice we ate out there every evening.Nice hotel within a very interesting area.

Traveller's tip
If your reasons for visiting krakow include reflecting on the suffering of the jewish people during ww2; then choose kazimierz as your base.Hope springs eternal and it is very much still here today.

“So so....”

The hotel is close to the city. However felt let down by a few things - the buffet breakfast is lacking in main things - tasty bread, and the food isnt labelled so you dont know what half of it is, as its not UK/American style. The room didnt have English TV - which I didnt come to Krakow to watch, but when you are just lazing about for an hour and want to see whats going on, its nice. The bathroom was probably the best thing about the hotel. The beds had scratchy sheets that gave my partner a rash and we had two singles stuck together with separate duvets. Not very romantic..... Staff are friendly. No wifi.

Traveller's tip
If you are wanting to spend a reasonable amount , go to Szara on Rynek Square. Its a michelen star restaurant and cost us about 60pounds for a starter, 2 mains and a nice bottle of wine. Brilliant food.

“Wer das echte Krakau sehen will, muß hier wohnen”

Schönes Hotel im jüdischen Viertel. Viele nette Lokale und Bars in der Nähe. 10 Gehminuten ins Zentrum und zu allen Sehenswürdigkeiten. Ich würde wiederkommen.

“Rt Regent hotel”

Nice hotel, at a 20 minute walk from the centre. It's easy to transfer from the trainstation to the hotel using tram 8. Rooms are very simplistic, but good enough to go there with a friend for a couple of days. It's not the type of hotel I would go to with my girlfriend. Breakfast is fine.

Area recommendations
Definately go to Auschwitz. If you go there, take a tour which is offered in the city. When you want to go there by train it takes you about 3 hours to go there and 3 hours to go back. The tours in the city go by bus, which is an hour and a half trip.
Shopping
The centre is the place to shop for souvenirs. If you want to go shopping for clothing, electronics etc. visit the huge shopping mall which is in the train station: 4 floors of shopping pleasure.
Nightlife
Is great! It's a real student city. We went out every night to one of the hundreds of hidden bars and discoteques.
