Nice stay

Posted 12-Aug-2014
Fresh croissants for breakfast , swim before breakfast ..all very nice...but the beds were quite lumpy ...and the night staff could have been a bit more helpful because we nearly had a medical emergency .My husband phoned reception at 2am to ask if there were any 24 hr pharmacies open or where the nearest hospital was, the info was given but no advice or help was offered ...but it all turned out ok .

Great hotel great location

Posted 06-Aug-2014
Pros: Location, staff, spa and food
Cons: Beds not so soft
Location: Really great access to Manchester, Chester and motorways
Lovely stay at friendly hotel. Used hotel for base to visit Manchester and Chester. Food good variety local produce with great service. Provided boys with bed time treat of milk and cookie with their name on. Nice touch - boys thoroughly enjoyed it. Great spa, that mid week is very quiet. Gym very very good. Husband very picky about gyms he was very impressed. Had lovely stay, hotel good mixture of business guests and families. Staff very friendly and great service. Only downside beds very very soft.

Nice hotel

Lovely staff, clean and comfortable hotel, would recommend. I was at the hotel for a wedding and the staff could not do more for you. I didn't use the spa, but it was recommended by other guest. The breakfast was expensive, however the drinks where reasonable and they have a lovely section of red wine!! Overall it was not the best hotel I have stayed at, but it was very nice and seeing it was £7.50 more than a travel lodge, I would highly recommend a visit!!!

Stay at Cottons Hotel Wed 9th July 2014

Posted 14-Jul-2014
Pros: The spa, see comments above
Cons: Needs more waiting staff in restaurant in evenings and at breakfast times. Décor of room is tired and in need of up-dating
Location: Knutsford is a pleasant town with lots to see and do.
Staff at Check in and bar were friendly and attentive. Some waiting staff in bar / restaurant were dilatory and off-hand. I waited for over 30 minutes after receiving a menu and finally went to the bar to order food and was then tersely advised by a waitress that she would come across and take my order soon, just wait. I'd waited long enough and fortunately the barman took pity and noted my order. The spa was pleasant and the staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good, majored on traditional full English cooked, but staff were very busy and too thinly stretched to cope with the number of customers. Décor of room was rather tired, though would of been of high quality when new, I'd guess about 20 years ago. The hotel did not offer good value for money. I would expect better at the room rates charged. For this reason I'd not recommend this as a location to stay.

Stayed overnight for a family wedding

Posted 13-Jul-2014
Pros: Friendly staff Well appointed room
Cons: Decor of rooms ok but a bit drab Needs updating
Location: Just out of town and a bit too far to walk Plenty of things to do a short drive away Manchester shopping Walking in Derbyshire
Staff very helpful when I needed to change rooms for my mother as the room allocated was too far to walk for her. Not much of a comfortable lounge area to sit Breakfast good Did not have time to use the spa facilities which looked very good

Pros: Location & breakfast
Cons: Rooms are very basic - would benefit from updating and repainting my bathroom door was damaged.
Was disappointed with this hotel, there was wedding reception on the first evening which resulted in children running up and down the corridors screaming. Throughout the night and very early morning there was a piercing sound whenever anyone used the water/WC in neighbouring rooms. When I told the reception about this they said no-one else hsd mentioned it but several of my friends in other rooms had reported the same issue to them?

Family get together. Easy access from motorway. Staff very friendly and helpful. Rooms, public areas and spa excellent. Breakfast service was excellent. Quality of food in restaurant was good, but service was slow - busy Saturday night. Overall, hotel provided great accommodation and service - will stay there again.

Stayed at the Cottons Hotel with a number of friends and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The staff were friendly and efficient in what is a top class hotel. A great location, comfortable and clean would highly recommend to anyone looking for a very good hotel in the countryside.

More or less faultless

Posted 23-Feb-2014
Pros: The staff, the food, the ambience
Cons: One fire door a little loud on closing, a slight groaning from a neighbours bathroom taps
Location: Tatton park knutsford , and a great deli in town serving the best bacon butties
Great staff, nice room, very comfortable bed, food cooked to perfection- new taster menu with matching wines was a delight - and reasonable prices in the bar. Second time here and we will come again.
