Out of Town

Posted 19-Aug-2014
Pros: Friendly, helpful front desk staff
Cons: Out-dated rooms. The "pub" had no service--had to "look" for it...
Location: Nice pub within walking distance, also McDonalds and, what we call in the states "Tiger Mart" at the Esso station. Otherwise, there is Nothing nearby
Nice, if a little out-dated hotel. Staff was always trying to be helpful, but really didn't know anything about the buses. I read a comment before booking, and it is true...this hotel is way out of town. You can walk to the bus, but it is a bit of a walk; if you want a cab (taxi) you can have them call for one, they won't be there on there own. No matter how much of a pain I made myself, they were always very helpful/pleasant...I would stay there again.

Convenient for Dover , yet quiet situation

Posted 08-Aug-2014
We much appreciated the use of the wheelchair provided by the hotel , as we had a 94-year-old relative with us in the car , which had no space for a wheelchair . We attended a wedding in Dover and the local taxi firm was able to take the wheelchair on board , making the journey easier for the relative .

Nice quiet hotel

Posted 25-May-2014
Pros: I complained about the wifi, but the manager called (left a voicemail) the day after I checked out to explain the improvements made to the hotel.
Cons: Better improved signages from the A20 road. We almost missed the turn.
the hotel isn't very close to town. but there is a pub nearby if you want to get some food. There is a TESCO extra nearby to get some supplies.

Good location for Dover ferry port.

Posted 21-Apr-2014
Pros: The room was comfortable and well-equipped. We particularly liked the coffee machine.
Cons: The room was very cold, the window was open when we arrived and it took a while to take the chill away.
Location: The hotel is well-situated for the ferry port. There is also a supermarket and McDonalds close by for coffee and breakfast.
We arrived after a busy journey to find that the key card machine wasn't working so we were unable to receive a key for our room. However the duty manager let us into our room with his master key. This meant that we were unable to leave and then return to the room without his assistance, which wasn't a problem as we were tired from our journey.

Management needs lessons on customer service

Posted 19-Apr-2014 on Hotels.com
The hotel is fine for visiting Dover, but he management needs work. We had my daughter's iPod damaged by a leaking kettle. First they challenged whether it would really so that damage. Then, once accepted they only cover £50 of Dave regardless of the fault being theirs. I'm still waiting for the money several days after the stay. Probably the last Ramada we will ever stay in.
