Nice and quite bungalows, food and wifi not great
We stayed in a very nice bungalow and awoke to birds chirping on their very pretty grounds. There's a lot of space at this hotel and each of the bungalows is positioned with enough space for privacy. However, there are two units in each bungalow, an upper and lower. We stayed in the lower and there was no one in the upper room. If there was someone upstairs they could have been noisy in our room. The room was very big, and parking outside was very easy. We arrived in the evening after the office was closed and check in was no problem with the security guard. The wifi did not work at all in our room, we were informed in the morning that wifi is only at the main lounge area. But because of the remoteness of the hotel location, we had no cell service in the bungalows. The hotel seems mostly geared towards providing meals and presentations to tour busses that stop there on the way to and from Chichen Itza. So while we ate three busses pulled up and unloaded. It didn't bother us at all, and there is quite a big shop there, if you want to buy tourist goods. The buffet breakfst is supposed to be included with the room, however we arrived at 10:45am and were charged because they had already started to serve lunch at that time. The buffet is very large and there are several Yucateco options as well as some not very good 'US' style food like spagetti. The food was mediocre, but adequate, what you'd expect at a buffet. Again, the buffet is really for the tour busses that stop there

My first such experience with VRBO recommendation
The hotel was very beautiful and clean....looks just like the photos. There were two single ladies traveling and our first room with double beds could not be locked from inside the room. Being uncomfortable with sleeping with our door unlock, we asked to be moved. The only other room was a single bed and we accepted. Once we got settled we attempted to use the bathroom and thick green liquid was coming out of the sink and toilet. Management came up to clear the issue and attempt to clean the residue. The shower would not produce hot water also. All of the rooms were unoccupied with only two available for management to accommodate us. So we used a pitcher of water which they provided to brush our teeth and took our cold showers in stride. The staff was very nice. Carmen

Nice secluded Bungalow
The bungalow was in a very peaceful area in the woods. We had our own small little one room house. It was clean and the staff was very nice and helpful. The location was far away from any other towns or stores so don't plan on anything being within walking distance.

Beautiful grounds, very pleasant staff, clean room, huge shower. Only downside really was there were quite a few steps to get to room, and the room itself was pretty small. No fridge, but they were very helpful and brought us one.

Ok if you have no other choice.
It looked vacant, the rooms were nice and clean but honestly they looked better in the pictures. Breakfast was extremely limited, people seemed to want to do as little as possible when help was needed.

The bungalows are amazing nice experience rooms are good and spacious the pool is amazing at night with clear skies you can swim under the stars The WiFi is very bad it doesnot work 90% of the time The buffet food is not that good you can always drive 20 min to the closest city and eat some real Mexican food 👍✌️

Pros - Beautiful landscaping on property, peacocks, pool. Cons - Dirty room (spiders, dead bugs around the room), uncomfortable beds, no hot water, low quality food in restaurant. Would not stay again.

Nice hotel in the country
Unique setting a couple kilometers from town. We paid extra for the king suite bungalows but they do not get wifi, nor did our tv work. Room had a bit of a musty smell and there was sand, dirt on the floor. Had the floors been clean and if we a Had wifi and tv I would have rated it higher. Had to check out one day earlier but could not cancel the room and had to pay the extra night.

Nice hotel close to many attractions.
We used this hotel as a base fro our exploration of various sites in Yucatán and it proved to be a good choice. Thier bungalows were full so we took two rooms at the main building. We saw an issue with one of the curtains and they immediately repaired it. The air conditioning works very well and the bathroom is quite big.

Really neat place near Chichen Itza and Cenotes
I absolutely loved staying here! This is a really neat hotel with the option of staying in bungalows. We stayed in a king sized bungalow. It was very spacious and seemed luxurious for staying in Mexico. The grounds are beautiful! They are very relaxing and quiet. We arrived in December 23rd. The staff was extremely kind and even invited us to their Posada party! In Mexico, they celebrate on December 24th instead of December 25th. We were very tired from our travel that day and after seeing Chichen Itza so we didn’t end up going. They do offer free breakfast: tea, orange juice, coffee, a small fruit plate, and toast. They also have a restaurant and you can order more food if you’d like. The hotel grounds also have a shopping area where you can find gifts and other keepsakes. I highly recommend staying here, it is a great value for the price and the staff are beyond kind!

Nice Staff, Lovely Pool, Large Bathrooms
This is my third stay at Real Mayab and it is just as nice, if not better, than my other two experiences. What's especially inviting is that the manager remembered our group and welcomed us with open arms. Some of the rooms are on the small side, but the bathrooms are very large and well equipped. The pool is beautiful and comfortable. There are bungalows in a park-like setting behind the hotel that would be great for families. You can get breakfast, lunch, and dinner at the hotel, but I think most who stay there only have breakfast. A light breakfast - coffee, bread, and fruit - is included in the room rate -, and you can add eggs, omelets, and other breakfast items at reasonable prices.

This hotel has very beautiful grounds. Souvenirs are a little high price compared to what you see at the ruins. The only real negative was the very measly breakfast and the very hard beds. Also the waiter made a mistake on what was included in the breakfast and they made me pay for the mistake anyway.

A nice hotel on beautiful grounds located conveniently close to Chichen Itza. The food at the restaurant was only so-so, but it is located close to a small town that has a number of good dining options.

Quirky and quiet!
Quite a quirky place!! Convenient for Chichenitza and Kulkil . The accommodation was quite basic and smellt a bit damp. The staff were great as we had a few problems with water, TV and air conditioning but not everything could be fixed , the reason being " it's the system"!! A bit pricey for what and where it was and the breakfast left a bit to be desired. Nothing to do in the evening especially with no t v and nearest big town a distance away. It served its purpose for us at the time as an overnight stay .

Cheap accomodation close to Chichen Itza
Our stay here was a little disappointing. We booked a bungalow for a 1 night stay on our way to Cancun. The rate was cheap which was good. The grounds are beautiful and this place has unbelievable potential. The restaurant was ok and provided a free breakfast with our stay. This included eggs any style and coffee. There was a buffet available with very limited selection. There is a hand craft/convenience store on site however it was closed when we arrived at 3pm, There was no toilet paper in our room and we had to request some. The room was spacious however, the floor is unfinished concrete and we had to keep our shoes on the whole time and it had a very musty/damp smell. The beds were very uncomfortable and there wasn't anywhere in the room to sit besides the bed and there was no furnishings present. There is supposed to be free wifi but it didn't reach our bungalow. This hotel isn't within walking distance to anywhere so once you're there you have to stay on the grounds our get in your car and drive to the nearest town of Kaua if you would like to get anything to eat or just go for a stroll. The staff, however, were quite friendly and accommodating and they went out of their way to make us feel welcome. the pool area was quite nice as well.

Close to Chichen Itza
We chose those hotel for its proximity to Chichen Itza. The staff was very courteous and helpful. There is a restaurant on site and the food was decent and staff very kind. The accommodations are sparse. Unfortunately there was not any hot water. Our room smelled a little musty but it was very clean.

Don't let the low price fool you!
This place was so beautiful, the pictures really don't do it justice. They have peacocks and turtles on the grounds and appear to be building more attractions behind the property. We "sprung" for a bungalow and were thrilled to see the spacious palapa roof that had been netted off. Also the decorative mosquito netting around the bed was unneccecary, but added a romantic touch to our stay. The shower was spacious as well and had plenty of pressure. My only complaints were that the wifi didn't make it to our bungalow and there was some sand on the floor in our room when we arrived. The staff more than made up for those imperfections, they were so friendly and courteous. Victor the chef prepared some incredible food (and cocktails) and brought them to us pool side as we needed to cool off after our long drive. It kinda felt like Vegas! Bottom line, if your going to Chichen Itza, don't do both drives and tour the ruins in one day, stay here. As we were leaving Chichen Itza the next day after a good night of sleep and long day of hiking the ruins, we couldn't help feeling sorry for all the poor suckers arriving on tour busses at 2pm. Those sad sacks wouldn't be back in Cancun until after dark. Oh one more thing, get out of Cancun, that place sucks!

Clean, comfortable bed, but - NO HOT WATER
Place is fine. Room was clean and good for a night's stay, but...NO HOT WATER. Arrived at 8pm and staff helped verify there was hot water after a 10 min wait of the water running, but in the morning NOTHING. We let the water run for 20+ min, but NO HOT WATER.

Beautiful gardens, peacocks, turtles, lovely cottages Stayed in the main building, which was comfortable, beautiful building and extraordinary parquet floors and granite walls. Very few people there when we were there, which is too bad, as it was a good experience. He said they were filled the week before. . No chairs or tables in room.

There's not much option to stay in Chitchen Itza for this price. The hotel amenities is nice and it has a nice garden. But the room was a bit smelly. The fridge was not on, and there were lots of ants inside. My AC was not cold at all and the hot water did not work when we were there.

Such a beautiful property; The room however...
When arriving at this property, my wife and I were extremely pleasantly surprised to see such a beautiful place with amazing grounds, we thought we died and went to heaven. We arrived around at almost 6pm, as we drove from Playa del Carmen and made a few stops along the way. The Hotel staff were literally packing up to go home and only the security guard was going to be on site to watch over us if anything arose. Thankfully after I made a comment to them one staff member stuck around until we were comfortable in our room. He helped us with our problems (no hot water: which there was none until the morning, even then it was just luke warm. The towels smelt musty and the TV did not work.) I found the Bathroom was nicer than the bedroom as the Bedroom was plain white walls and the Bathroom has beautiful tile done all around. I would say come enjoy this property for a few hours, but I wouldn't recommend to stay overnight here.

it's ok thats about it.
This hotel is alone on the highway just outside of town. Very basic rooms, I had a bungalow, which is nothing special. There is only wifi in the hotel office not in the rooms or restaurant. The restaurant serves breakfast around 8 or when ever you get there after 8 and it has a buffet lunch which caters to the bus tours going to Chichen Itza. There is no dinner service so bring your own or go back into town. I was the only guest this night. There is a security guard there all night, so no one messed with my bike. my rating would be it's OK but nothing special. I should have rode the couple of hours more and gone into Cancun.

Magical experience! Highly recommend.
This is a true experience of Yucatan nature & enchantment. The bungalows are not "luxury 4 star" accommodations but the overall experience of this place gets 5 stars from me! The landscape is full of Mayan details and includes a peacock sanctuary, Turtle pond, tons of places to sit & walk, yummy restaurant, big gift shop, & sparkling pool. The rooms are large with vaulted ceilings, big balconies, large bathrooms.

Cool Jungle Bungalow
Very cool place in wooded retreat. Nice people. Good restaurant. Nice pool with great nighttime bat show. Close to Xichen Itza but away from the crowds. Quiet. itza

Nice place, lovely service
The service was great. Everyone was kind and helpful. Only issue is the name on the sign is different to our booking, so it was a little tricky to find, and it's a little far out from both the town and Chichen Itza. But these issues were easily resolved and for what we paid and what we got we felt it was a good deal.
