“The trains are pretty loud.”

The railroad tracks pass right behind the motel and the trains come by pretty frequently, at least during the week. They start blowing the whistle a little ways out and at first I thought, "That's not too bad, it's even a little charming." But they also blow the whistle right behind the motel which is startling if you're not used to it. If you are a very sound sleeper it might not bother you. Otherwise, I suggest earplugs. The meeting room worked very well for our purposes but the trains did cause some interruptions. We served lunch for the event participants at the barbeque restaurant next door. They had everything ready for us and made the lunch break quick and easy.

Area recommendations
At this time, August 2010 I think there's only one other hotel in Sealy and it's only slightly farther from the train tracks. I would probably look in surrounding towns.
