Santorini Island Hotel Guide. Adventure Sport Hotels in Kamari, Santorini Island, Greece

We arrived at Thira airport in the morning and a member of staff from the hotel was there to meet us as they had arranged the transfer for us (you have to pay extra for this but it is a lot cheaper than a taxi). Once we arrived at the hotel we were told that they had a surprise for us and that our room had been upgraded to a junior suite (rather than a superior double). Our room was clean, nicely decorated, lovely bathroom and we had a Jacuzzi on our balcony! Santorini was very warm the week we were there so we didn't actually visit much of the island apart from on the penultimate day as it was too hot to do anything. However, we were more than happy to lie beside the pools in the hotels on the luxury beds and have a quick dip in the pool. Although the hotel is right next to a busy road the huge white wall that separates you from the road makes you feel as though you are in the middle of nowhere! We walked down to the beach on a daily basis (less than 5 min walk) and had dinner as a different restaurant every evening but we decided that we'd much rather spend most of our days at the hotel by the pool than at the beach which is a black volcanic beach! On the penultimate day we went on a boat trip which was also upgraded. Even though we were not supposed to end in oia they agreed to drive us there and back for no extra charge. Staff were friendly and helpful, hotel was beautiful, food was good - a fantastic holiday and we would definitely go again!

Stayed here 2nd week of July. Sophia & her family, and Judy, make you feel very welcome & are really, really helpful. Always greet you with a smile & do what they can for you.

We had a wonderful time at Hotel Matina. The staff made us feel welcome straight away and were very helpful with guidance on trips, local restaurants and amenities. The hotel is a short walk to the beach and had a supermarket very close by. There was a nice variety for breakfast including fresh fruit and breads. If you are staying in Kamari, this is a great hotel to choose.

The idea of our holiday was to go away and relax, at this hotel you had the opportunity to do exactly that. The breakfast was excellent, especially the wonderful home made cakes.The location was peaceful but you were near to the beach and the amenities of the resort. One slight downside if you have a late return flight the hotel would not allow us to pay to keep a room until around 5pm even though the hotel was no where near full, not exactly good business or good customer service. On the whole we had a lovely time.

We really enjoyed our stay here. Room 11 was great just wish that we had a holder for the shower head in the bathtub. The location is great with time to relax on the beach and shopping. If you are coming to Santorini to see the what Santorini is known for which is the sunset, a day trip or two to Fira or Oia is very do able. We are glad we stayed in Kamari and not Fira or Oia, which were way too crowded for our taste and having breakfast next to the beach is much nicer. There are tons of restaurants and adorable little shops along the beach. We spent a week here and could not have asked for a better time and a great location. Highly recommend this hotel to anyone to stay at.

Overall hotel is great. Only drawbacks is general location, as we went at end of season Kamari beach, was very quiet, so we spent alot of money getting taxi's to Fira. Food and staff were exceptional. I would say the food was the best on the island, you must have dinner there. Only drawback is that they dont offer complimentary snacks with drinks (like most restaurants/bars on the island). Rooms were lovely, but if i was being critical, i would say they were lacking a bit of character.

From the moment I arrived, I was treated as part of the family. The staff at the Boathouse are hospitable and extremely friendly. They gave me great suggestions for tours, dining, etc. The location was marvelous (directly across from the beach).

Enjoyed our stay. Our room felt like an apartment and was quiet, clean. Hotel Staff were friendly.

Very Clean and friendly hotel, staff were brilliant. A room for two was beautiful and spacious. Perfect location, 2 mins from beach, and easily accessibly to any part of the island. Faultless

exceptional staff. Angela went out of her way for me. Stavros was over the top helpful and kind. Great service. Felt safe as was travelling as a single female. Staff were able to help with any questions about buses/ shopping etc. Every room had a balcony with two chairs and a table. There are two pools. One at the front and one at the back. The breaky was great, fruit etc.... Thouroughly enjoyed my stay. Would definately return. Highly recommend this hotel...
