The Taj is a very well priced Western style hotel within the city of Jodhpur. The staff is very pleasant and helpful. They have a beautiful pool along with an attentive group of staff members who provide cold towels and frozen fruit kababs. The spa services are basic but effective.
it is located outside of the madness of the city (I don't recommend staying in town as it is too crazy and polluted), main restaurant is average, however avoid ordering food at the bar, it is revolting! room was average, bathroom was just OK (could be cleaner). good entertainment at night, beautiful pool.
Overal OK establishment, worth no more than 150$ a night.
The garden is amazing. You wake up to the sound of peacocks and birds. The rooms are beautifully decorated and have a very special feel.. they used to be horse stables!! It does not get more boutique than that!
Nice location, nice facility (a bit on the older side, but well cared for).
staff was very nice.
renewing internet lease was annoying as was the spotty WiFi in the rooms.
the pool is useless because of the pigeons that are in and around it all day
New hotel with International service standards.More
The service in this hotel surpassed any other hotel we stayed in India. Most of the guest in the hotel were from European tour groups and the buffet was also geared for their taste apart from some Indian food with some variety. We could not complain about any thing, and the staff were always there to assist you. They picked us from the airport and arranged a driver to take us for shopping and the tour of the important castle, museum and forts. Apart from Town and Country Inn By Carlson, The Fern Residency Hotel group are the two great hotels group I will recommend for India trip, because you will always get the value for your money. We were bit surprised that the service they provide in the restaurant were provided to the Maharajas and the British Masters, and coming from the Western life style culture, we felt bit uncomfortable when we were spoon-fed every time we reached for our food from various dishes on the table. It seems that the well-to-do Indians missed out during the days of Maharajas and British Masters, and likes to replace them in new India, but to me it is a kind of slavery, which needs to be avoided in all hotels and airports in India.
I arrived in Jodhpur at 9pm after 7 hrs travelling in a bus without AC, tired and feeling dirty, so what a good surprise I had when I saw the Kothi Heritage! It really cheered me up! I was charmed by the beautiful architecture and the decoration of the house, and I was very well welcomed by the owner of the hotel.
The staff was extremely friendly, the only problem being that the waiters are not all proficient in English, so sometimes they were staring at me because they obviously did not understand what I was saying...!
Overall I had an excellent time at the hotel and I can only warmly recommend it!
This was one of the most tidy and clean hotels during my Rajasthan Trip. The rooms are spacious with a nice ambience right from the floor lobby to the rooms. The ease to access Wifi Internet and the luxurious sofa-beds was cool.
A wonderful hotel with a view straight onto the fort. Walking distance to everything of interest. Very helpful staff. Rooms basic but perfect in their basicness. Would definitely stay here again. The rooftop is a place you will spend many hours with a book or a beer or both.
