I really loved our room/suite. My wife and I took the two double beds in the bedroom and the teenagers had futons in the other room. With the Japanese sliding panels you could open up or close off the various areas. The resort is quiet and beautiful. The public bath areas are the main feature of the hotel, and they are really nice. Each side has both an indoor and outdoor area, with different bath options such as tubs, pools, etc. The products they provide, and towels, yukatas, etc., are high quality. The main close-by attraction is the cable car ride up the mountain, from which we got a great view of Mt Fuji.
Interestingly, there was no coffee in the room or even available at the breakfasts or dinners, but only in a free vending machine in the hotel lobby.
My only complaint is that I had paid for the breakfast and dinner, which meant that I was paying about $1500 a night. What aggravated me was that then they charged me extra for house wine, cokes, etc, which ought to be included in such a price. So the $3000 I paid gladly since I agreed to it, but the extra $100 to have basic beverages with the fancy multi-course meals galled me a bit. The place is already priced above the market, so they should not be greedy.
Overall, a very fancy experience, and a world away from Tokyo, although less than an hour away on the Shinkansen.
