I attended a workshop at Omega Institute and Roosevelt Inn was the perfect off campus accommodation for our weekend. I would definitely stay here for the next workshop. The room was clean and the staff was so nice, she even helped us with a wine bottle opener!
We are Boomers and it was a happy, nostalgic surprise to see a vintage mid-20th century style motor inn, meaning wood construction, flower boxes on the second-floor railings (and only 2 floors) and especially the 50's colors of the vintage metal flexing chairs with the perforated pattern of the backs outside of each room. You'd have to either know or see what that means. Unfortunately, their site doesn't feature them or the flower boxes in photos- time to update! The coffee shop is an other-era delight, too; knotty pine with a diner-type serving bar with padded stools and tables- a warm and friendly feel- also some tables outside in the back.
The room and beds were comfortable and the mod-cons were all you need. We really enjoyed our time there.
The Hotel is very nice. The rooms are super clean and it's quiet/peaceful. It's in a good location and honestly the complimentary breakfast is really awesome!! Fresh OJ, Tea, Coffee, Bagels, Muffins, Croissants, Cereal, Doughnuts- it's truly a really great place to stay!
This place just wasn’t my cup of tea and that’s not necessarily their fault. I just need to book hotels that I am used to from now on but there weren’t a whole lot of options in the Hyde Park area other than Inns. If you have to eat gluten free, you’ll definitely have to bring your own breakfast. Again, that’s not the Roosevelt’s fault as I wouldn’t expect them to cater to all food allergies. I did find a wonderful gluten free bakery within a 4 minute walk. We took the train and then taxi into Hyde Park so not having our own vehicle made things harder because Ubers and taxis are scarce in the area. It was nice being within walking distance to the Vanderbilt Mansion.

Thank you for your review. Hyde Park is an upstate town with 'nearby' amenities and attractions but not a concentrated downtown. It is more suited for motor tourists. As is the Roosevelt Inn a motel and not a hotel with a modest price tag and no on-site amenities such as a restaurant or gym. It's always best to do a little research before a trip. The Roosevelt Inn will always be here for modest travelers seeking a simple comfortable refuge in their Hudson Valley exploration. Safe travels!

Quaint old motel with modern updates in the room. Very convenient to the Roosevelt Home & Museum. The room A/C was quite noisy.

Thank you for your review. We will look into the a/c issue.
Our stay was excellent. Although an older motel, it is well cared for, very clean and quiet. Has a simple continental breakfast. It’s located in the center of Hyde Park and vet close FDR’s Museum and Library and Home. Also just a couple of miles to the Vanderbilt Mansion. Highly recommend and we’ll stay in there again. The motel owner was very nice.
Property amenities were as advertised. The Roosevelt Inn is a family owned business. The rooms are quaint: adequate size and open to the outside in a very safe area— and clean. While the facility was older, facility updates were obvious. Continental breakfast was provided. The owner was helpful and congenial. I plan on staying there again
If all you need is a very comfortable, clean room, there is no need to pay hotel rates. Very well managed facility that tries hard to create an inviting environment. Great location for Hudson Valley exploration. Breakfast is even "catered" by Dunkin' Donuts.

Thank you for the kind review. Also, what a great shot of Anthony Bourdain's picture at the Culinary Institute!
The Inn was very clean, beds super comfortable, nice soft sheets, all the amenities I needed. The location is close to great historical areas and trails. Loved the diner down the road. Great continental, serve yourself breakfast.

It's very easy to access the office for any questions and the desk staff is friendly and helpful. The continental breakfast is well done with fresh fruit as well. The beds are comfy and in the larger rooms it was convenient to have two sinks.
