Cute little place. We arrived after check-in, but our room key was conveniently left on a hook just inside the office door. Our room was very quiet and the room clean and comfortable.

We selected this property because we had an overnight requirement in the area. The property was chosen because of its affordability and proximity to our activities. The room was nice, clean, and perfect for our needs. The only drawback is the room had no coffee maker which is a significant morning starter for us.

The place was pretty quiet even though the guys were going out fishing at 5 in the morning. They didn't make much noise.

A great place to stay that is quiet and clean. The only minor issue was that the water wasn’t ever hot for showers. Not a dealbreaker for me though, personally. Overall, it’s worth the price.

I only spent one night here but kind of wish I could have stayed longer. I stayed in one of the small cabins. The shower is small but it worked, had good water pressure and was all I needed. The cabin was clean and perfect for what I wanted and needed. Would definitely stay again if I’m in the area.

We felt safe and the room was clean. The outdoor swim pool was small but private to the publicview. They did not supply a clock, microwave, small coffee pot or any kind of cups for our use. The tv reception was terrible and kept earching during the movie. The room for being a DELUX was very small. No chair. No shelf in the shower room. Had to put our clean clothes on the commode or on the floor. There was an extra $50 charge per night for being on the weekend. That makes the room $179 per night . I feel this was very expensive being they don't even have a continental breakfast. The pricing was confusing. I paid $550 for 3 nights and people in a cottage paid $450 for 4 nights. Same weekend.

Hello, we do not provide those things mentioned above, and do not advertise that we do. We have listed what is provided. Our Motel is not a Hotel where breakfast is provided, and again we do not advertise this. We are very upfront with our pricing, and it states that we have a surcharge for weekends, as do most motels and Hotels. If you look on the websites, you will see that we have many different units that are available. These units are priced differently. The guests in the cottages have a smaller unit so their rates are different than your delux queen unit. We are sorry that your stay was not what you had anticipated. Our Wifi was acting up while you were here, but we have since gotten it fixed. We have pictures of each of these rooms on our website, and also on the booking sites. As for the cups. there should have been some cups in your room to use, and if there were not, we wish you would come and asked about them so we could make sure we gave you some. Thanks for staying.

The property is cute and quiet. Friendly people. The pool area is very nice and the property was clean, with nice flowers planted. Suggestions: would be to fix up private beach and area leading to it. Very hard to get down to it and dangerous metal railings broken off. Need iron and ironing board in room. Fridge froze everything.

This property was much better than I expected! It was very clean and the staff was super friendly. My cottage did have a fridge even though it wasn’t listed and I was not charged extra for WiFi. It is conveniently located near Vermilion, Huron, and Sandusky with many nice beaches for swimming. I really enjoyed my stay and will definitely be back!

Came here to visit family with my husband & dog. I’m 8 months pregnant-this was our last trip for a bit. The male owner is so extremely rude and aggressive. Entered our room with no notice just a knock and a dog sniffing for bed bugs. Called to say we needed to get back to the cottage ASAP, that we never told them about bringing a pet which is a total lie bc after I booked online I called to let them know that we’d be traveling with a dog since there is no way to do so thru the Expedia booking process. The man on the phone said no problem I will leave a note with the reservation and that there was pet fee. We get there check in and l assume everything is good to go we sign the credit card slip which had no break down of charges for us to keep.Didn’t think anything of it- three days go by and we get screamed at and accused of sneaking our dog in and not following the rules. It states that there is no turn down services or anything like that and there was no do not disturb sign to put on the door. I felt completely violated that they entered our room with another dog. Our suitcases were open, belongings around the room, not for nothing but my dog could have gotten hurt by the other dog or escaped. Wouldn’t you do this when the room is not rented? I wanted to leave after all this and he said we had to pay for the night bc the cleaning crew was done for the day- we packed up and saw the cleaning crew still working when we left the property-another lie. No beach, not a queen bed.

We are sorry that your stay was not what you had anticipated. We apologized for not noting that you did call and state that you had a dog. We are not sure why you were not informed when you called about having a dog about our policies and pet fees. We have signs around office about this also. I agree the safety of your dog and guests is very important to us. That is why we have the policies of a kennel or crate when you leave pets unattended. If we need to enter your unit, this keeps everyone safe. The owner and desk clerk apologized for accusing you of sneaking dog into room, and explained why you needed to come back and get your pet when not here. You stated that you were going to take your dog with you during the day that day so there was not a problem with you continuing to stay here that night. We do have a cancellation policy of 3 days prior to stay to cancel for free. As for staff still being here, we were not aware that they were still here as they had already clocked out.. For clarification of false truths: There is a small beach located at end of lane on our property, and the room you were in does have a queen size bed. Again we are sorry for how we made you feel, but we tried to accommodate so that everyone was satisfied. You were determined to no longer stay at the motel once you were called about your pet. Hope all goes well for your growing family and we wish you nothing but best wishes.

This is a very quaint mom and pop place. The staff was nice so were the grounds. However there was some things that need to be improved on. We were not told when we booked we get charged extra for using a credit card so that was a surprise charge. We were not told we did not get house keeping service. The beds were comfortable. However the AC units needed to be clean from a lot of dust and the light was on to service. There was hair in the shower. My sheets, towels and wash cloths had a gray tint to them and the floor mat was fraying. There were no dish towels or pot holders in the kitchen we had to use hand towels to get stuff from the oven. No extra trash bags our trash can was over flowing from a three day stay. Attention to detail would go a long way

Tv didnt work, suppose to be lake view was not. No beach area. Hot water took forever to get there. Will not stay again almost left and went somewhere else but had already paid.

So sorry that we were not what you had expected. Our ad does not state that rooms have lake view, but we do have a less than 10 feet walk to an absolutely stunning lake view. We do have access to a small beach area. I wish you had asked staff about your concerns, we could have fixed the TV, and checked on the hot water for you too. . Thanks for staying.

Noone was in the office. We had to call a number and stand outside to wait for him. Beach is gone. Room had inconvenient light switches. None by the bed. Only one outlet by the sink needed reset button pushed repeatedly to work. Knob on sink is broken. I would not recommend this place.

this is an older 'mom & pop' place with lots of character. It's a great location right on Lake Erie, and close to a very nice Nature Center. If you are looking for a change from the typical modern motel (Super 8 or Motel 6), this is the place.

The guy who ran the place acted something awful because we checked the beds first thing. We do that anywhere we stay for our safety. The TV barely worked, the Wi-Fi signal was poor which affected the tv as well. Had a nice view of Lake Erie though, I did like that. But overall it was poor for the stay.

Our room had a strange odor but service was great, cost was much lower than other options, rooms were comfortable, the small beach area was perfect for my kids to play and find sea glass. We will definitely be back!

Expedia apparently made a mistake and only booked us for 6 days instead of 7 and on the last day they requested the extra day rate which we gladly paid bug then asked us to move to another room since they needed the room for another guest and told us they had every right to do so since Expedia made the mistake. We were already out and they asked us to come back to love our things or the maids could move it. We declined until we were back. Once we got back to move things they said they handled it . But it really put a bad taste in our mouth about booking with hotels.com due to booking mistake.

A Mom and Pop motel/cabins. Surrounded by a cornfield. This quiet and comfortable little cabin was perfect for what I needed. Lake Huron is at the end of the property for skilled swimmers. Bring some charcoal if you want to BBQ.

The A/C worked but was so noisy we had to turn it off. Nice view of lake Erie, but the beach area was really more of a shoreline. It would have neen hard to launch kayaks logistically. Reasonably priced compared to Sandusky.

Excellent location and although older property, very clean. Only negative was checking in. I was traveling for work and was unable to check in until around 6. The front office was locked and took someone several minutes to arrive. If this place had more staffing it would be excellent. Front office says someone usually not working past 8:00PM so I do not know what really someone would do if one had to check in late.

Not the best reception.
We booked around 5 pm for the same night just to discover the hotel office closes at 5 pm and if you need to check in later than 5:30 pm you have to call ahead. The phone was not working. Emails weren’t answered. We showed up around 7 pm hoping someone would be onsite to check us in because it was non refundable we didn’t have another option. A guest who stays regularly had to help us get in contact with the owner. He told us to just take the key hanging on the front door and let ourselves into the room. I do have to say hotels.com was wonderful helping me navigate this situation.
