“Great Place to Stay”
We attended the Joyce Meyer Conference at Lakewood Church. We were able to walk to the church and use the vallet service of the hotel. Everyone was very helpful and everything we asked for was provided. We will go there again.
“Great Food”
The hotel staff did a great job and the property was in good condition. The food was better that I usually expect at a hotel. It is located in a business area and seems to cater to business travelers.
“Nice Place”
Came into Houston for a Lakewood Church event. Best place to stay since the church is right across the street. If you do not have a car, the hotel will provide shuttle service to local shopping and eatery. The hotel food is good. Very nice breakfast buffet. There's even a Starbucks in the hotel lobby. All the staff was friendly and helpful. The fitness room was nice for this hotel. The only thing missing from my room was a refrigerator and microwave. These are nice to have in hotels and I'm surprised a higher end hotel like this does not provides these 2 amenities in the room. I surely would stay there again with no hesitation.
“Would DEFINITELY stay here again”
My wife and I traveled to Houston for a Rice vs. Purdue football game this past weekend, in honor of the First Responders of 9/11...The Rice team was staying at the hotel the night before the team, so being a Rice alum, the Renaissance seemed the most convenient hotel to follow to caravan to the game. Reading the previous reviews had us a little nervous, but everything turned out great! The hotel staff, particularly the gentleman that worked the evening shift Saturday and Sunday morning, was as freindly and helpful as any in the hospitality industry crew we have dealt with. I wil have to agree with the previous comments regarding the parking garage. Not sure that there would ever be some kind of work-around, but you will definitely need a designated driver (even if you only have a couple) OR, take advantage of the supplemental insurance when renting a vehicle. Definitely an accident waiting to happen, if you aren't paying attention.
“Great Hotel, Great Price”
The Renaissance is a very nice hotel with Starbucks inside and very friendly. Would definately stay again.
“Mixed Bag”
Room was comfortable, with nice linens and other appointments, if some were a bit dated. Make-up of room following 1st night was unacceptable -- still not made up at 5:00 P.M. return to room, and 3 calls to housekeeping required before it was. Parking lot was a nightmare. Be forewarned. And on Sunday, lot was signed over to large neighboring church, resulting in many exits closed. No warning from front desk re that situation. Public spaces very nice and front desk courteous, despite being remiss as noted above. Appreciated convenience of on-site Starbucks. Convenient location and access to freeway leading to other convenient shopping and restaurant areas also a plus. Hallways were quiet and rooms not badly insulated from noise both within and without hotel.
“"so-so"”
The hotel looked really cool on the outside and the lobby is not too bad but the rooms need updating. The beds were not very comortable. The pillows were so uncomfortable...woke up with a daily neck ache.
“"Best Valet, Good Stay"”
A cozy night’s sleep with great service makes this hotel a great choice. The rooms are spacious and extremely comfortable. I had a front-room view this time, different from the side views which are serene and calming; however, my front view of the hotel was fantastic, too. The hotel has made some slight improvements since my last stay. The front desk agents are super efficient. Carmen handled everything with great care. The breakfast in the restaurant was delicious. Since this was a short stay, I did not get a chance to visit the bar; I will do that on my next stay. The valet service is consistently superb. Alex and Harris always go the extra-mile for their guests.
“"Great Hotel" "Can't wait to go back"”
Renaissance Hotel Review Great Hotel! Super Stay! (July 17-19, 2010) Reviewed by Barbara D. This 4-star hotel has almost everything you need to have a wonderful stay. The front desk agents are on top of it. Max heads up a mighty fine staff consisting of Paul, Jennifer, and others, with whom I came into contact with. The room was extremely comfortable. The pillow-top bed, with nine (9) pillows, varying in fibers, to meet your sleeping demands. There is a nice size walk in close with large chest of drawers, iron and board, robes, etc. The floor to ceiling glass windows make for an open and airy feel. You’ll enjoy the full service breakfast buffet, consisting of the freshest fruit and cereals, to hot assorted meats and eggs-whatever your taste requires, they’ve got it. Take advantage of the complimentary shoe shine service; it’s fast and immediate. Please tip! The hotel has one of the best valet services in the area. Johnn, Harris, and Rocky were my favorites. My personal suggests for the hotel would be to include an in-room safe and lower the price of their martinis - $14.00 for such a tiny martini glass, is not in line, with other 4-5 star hoteliers in the area; lower the price, or provide a much bigger glass. All-in-All, this is a great hotel, with super service, and fine staff.
