“Hotel Zaza Houston”

We booked our reservation thru Expedia, and the "Expedia priced room" they originally put us in was very small, had a terrible odor and was not clean. We had them move us to another room which was very nice. The hotel staff even gave us complimentary drink/appetizer tickets for the inconvenience. Great customer service in dealing with the issue.

“great place to stay, will go back”

I was 100% satisfied with the Zaza. I read many reviews trying to pick our hotel. My daughter was interviewing at the Houston Dental School, so we needed to be in the Medical Center area. The motel was expensive but it was worth it. We had shuttle service (a black Caddillac SUV) to anywhere in the surrounding area. They took my daughter to her interview and gave her a # to call when she was ready to return. We felt very pampered. The free shuttle helped offset the higher price room, The restaurant was very good, lunch menu was not so pricey, but the dinner menu was very pricey, but delicious. Room was wonderful. We booked a queen and it was in a teeney tiny room with little room to even move and only a shower. I called and asked for a room with a tub and they upgraded us to a grand king and didn't even charge us extra. Our new room was awesome, clean, a comfortable bed. Customer service was great!! Also had a massage at the spa, it was great too!!!

“This place was amazing”

We spent a four day weekend at the ZaZa and everything was beyond our expectations--our room was comfy and clean, the service was awesome and the location in the museum district was exactly what we wanted. Every restaurant recommendation was wonderful. We would definitely stay here again!

“Nice stay, Valet group needs tha boot!”

Killer bed, and great A/C! Nice lobby and check in staff. Bell-hop is a joke, waiting for over 30 minutes to get our items to our room. Worse than that was there valet service. All I can say is, plan ahead in the morning if you valet.....

“Lots of style, little substance.”

Appearing to be a luxury hotel isn't the same as being one. Don't get me wrong the stay was fine but they lacked the subtleties that usually accompany such a hotel. Valet service always seemed to be out of sync and the professionalism of the staff in the spa was less than I would have expected. The desk help and the porters were very quick to accommodate and always helpful though. Overall it seemed that they think guests will confuse trendiness with quality and that's a shame cause it was a very pretty hotel.

“Good stay but overall value not there.”

A great hotel and good service. But could get the same service and quality for half the price at a competing hotel 5 minutes away.

Area recommendations

Stay near the Galleria - It is a good general location close to dowtown with attractions closeby for every taste and budget.

Family-friendly activities

The zoo is great for families. Cheap too!

“Fantastic poolside, fun hotel”

Hotel ZaZa lived up to its reputation in the guide book. It was luxurious without being over the top. The comfort & quality of the room was as expected. If you have to be in Houston during August I would highly recommend this hotel as the pool area is fantastic and when the temperature is over 100 degrees it is a necessity! I would definitely come here again.
