The staff makes you feel like family

Posted 18-Feb-2015
Cons: Nothing to do with the resort, but the sand flies and mosquitoes are other-worldly. Come prepared (baby oil for sand flies, deet for mosquitoes)
Location: Diving, snorkeling, hikes in the jungle, zip-lining, cave tubing (not for the claustrophobe), and mingling with the wonderful people of Hopkins.
I was at Jaguar Reef for a week. As a woman traveling alone, I really appreciated how the staff made me feel at ease. They learned my name right away, were always there to recommend a place to eat, or an activity to sign up for. The resort is simple but very nice. The food unspectacular but good. The rum punches are fabulous and the whole place has a low-key, friendly vibe to it. There's a dive site on the premise and a really big one within walking distance. The resort organizes daily activities that one can sign up for so there's never a dull moment! Thanks a lot, friendly Jaguar Reef people!

Family vacay

Posted 10-Feb-2015
Pros: the proximity to the beach, the pools were not cold so the kids could play and not freeze.
Cons: The bed (mattress) was very uncomfortable it felt like we were sleeping at an angle in both bedrooms.
Location: Great location, not in the center of town which worked for us just a bit more south. If you don't have a car you can rent a golf cart.
Great time spent 2 nights there are places to eat walking distance from the resort if you don't want to eat at the hotel which is more expensive prices are in US$ so make sure you know that not in BZE$

Solid 4 star resort

Posted 11-Jan-2015
Wonderful front desk and restaurant staff. Friendly and eager to serve. Food is so - so but plentiful. Beach is kept clean and inviting. We chose to drive from Belize City to the resort. It would be more time effective to fly to Dangriga. Still it was nice to be able to drive around on our own. In all a solid 4 - star resort.

Really nice for family or couple

Nice 5 days, all good. But I would suggest to offer internet access on every room and pool areal. Really good service, don't hesitate to ask at the front desk, they answer really quickly to all of your request!

Jaguar Reef

Posted 01-Nov-2014
Pros: The staff is exceptional and knowledgeable. Anytime we asked for anything the answer was always 'yes' or 'of course'.
Cons: It would be nice if the bar had a little better wine selection, but I don't really consider it a negative thing.
Location: We loved the friendly village of Hopkins. The resort offers many opportunities for day trips but just hanging out at the beach was my favorite.
We had a wonderful stay at Jaguar Reef in Hopkins. The beach was clean and beautiful, the staff is fabulous, we felt so welcome. Loved our rooms, clean and pretty. Would not hesitate to come back.

Pros: The Hotel is beautiful right on the beach very quite even when fully booked.
Cons: Improvements to the road system in Belize.
The resort, amenities and staff were wonderful! The excursions were top notch and the best snorkeling trip we have been on in the Caribbean! The locals were very friendly and helpful we found the best dinner spot right on the beach at Chef Rob's a great 4 course meal right on the beach, exceptional.

Picture Perfect! Like a PostCard.

Pros: I liked that they had 2 pools. one for adults and one for kids.
Cons: They could use new mattresses!! It seems as if whenever I go on vacation the mattresses are not good so I don't sleep as well.
Location: You are actually pretty secluded, so you need to take the planned trips. All were well worth the money. Much more than I expected.
We had an awesome trip. We went the 1st week of August. Lounging around on the beach was nice. Snorkeling was a lot of fun but my favorite was the Zip Line in the jungle. AMAZING!! Everyone was very nice.
