This is a historic home repurposed into a hotel. The building is lovely with amazing woodworking, sitting room, and fireplaces. You can really feel the history. It was easy to walk to the water front and many historic sights, including the Whaler Bar, opened in 1831. We had a very nice large room with comfy bed and plenty of hot water. Plus, the Continental brekkie was quite nice!

I thought it was odd that breakfast was Included, but you had to pay to get a good cup of coffee. Instant coffee and tea were part of the complementary breakfast, but a brewed cup of coffee was $5 I would rather not have such an elaborate continental breakfast (cold cuts annd cheese) and coffee instead.

The property and accommodations are clean and comfortable. The bathroom in our room was a little outdated but very functional.

Our Room was Small with Toilet and Shower door opening into the bedroom. It was like sleeping in a bathroom. The rest of the Building was lovely with an old world feel, Friendly staff and good complimentary breakfast. I would recommend it as it was close to everything and had limited off road parking (for a price). Hotel seemed to be in a transition period with work being done on some Bedrooms. Great potential.

A very classy establishment that whispers stories of times long ago. Beautifully and tastefully decorated. Not a laminated surface in sight. Bed was extremely comfortable and room was big. We could do cartwheels. No fancy mod cons - but none needed. Everything required a short walk away. Beautiful. I’m already excited about staying here again.

From the moment I entered the reception, I felt welcomed. Staff accommodated my request for accessible room and offered to store my luggage. The room was clean and comfortable with lovely touches such as beautiful cups for tea and coffee. Breakfast was excellent and check in and out very easy. Definitely recommend!

Excellent Stay.
The staff at Macquarie are amazing. Bed and room were great. The hotel is close to Salamanca Markets. Stay included a great continental breakfast.

I liked the size of the room. I appreciated the sitting room/salon with the contemporary artworks as well as the large dining area and continental breakfast. I very much appreciated the service provided by a very helpful, cheerful and friendly hotel representative who helped us with our bags and provided us with helpful information and greeted us at breakfast. She was very efficient and very attentive to serving breakfast, all with a smile.

The staff at this place were lovely and welcoming. The building is a gorgeous colonial style building with period style furniture to match. Room was beautifully warmed up on my arrival. The room was a bit faded in its glory but had lots of character and the bed was comfortable. Only thing is despite the double glazed windows, i could still hear traffic noise. If you bring earplugs, it should be fine. Location is very convenient to eateries on Collins st and only 10 -15 mins to waterfront.

The hotel double booked us despite confirmation emails so we got a phone call a few hours before we were to arrive saying we couldn't have the 2 rooms we had booked They could only offer us 1 toom for 4 unrelated people and 1 bathroom They were very apologetic but it was a terrible shock.as we were flying in from interstate and had to search for another hotel.at the last minute and ended up paying much more for our accommodation

Friendly and very helpful staff, could not fault them at all. Clean and comfortable, a lift would have been nice as we stayed in the family room which is downstairs so taking luggage down was trying especially as we had two elderly ladies, we did think our room was on the ground floor. Overall a good stay.

The staff were courteous, friendly and very helpful. The continental breakfast had a limited choice but what was available was of a high standard and beautifully presented. I would be happy to stay here again!

This beautiful old lady needs a lot more work to take her back to her glory days. Our room was absolutely freezing, aircon was noisy and did not work well, toilet didn’t flush properly, and overall the room was in dire need of an update, especially the carpet. There was nothing in the minibar fridge, room lacked basic amenities such as body lotion and pens, and aside from that, the breakfast croissants were utterly stale. Staff were friendly and helpful but sadly, did not make up for the lacklustre room.

Unfortunately, we do not offer a mini bar service and the fridge is merely there for the convenience of our guest; but, we are looking into offering a mini bar service in the near future if it will enhance our guests experience.

Stayed for 3 nights to attend a conference. Due to a cancelled flight had to check in after hours but did not receive the promised lock box info. Happened to arrive at same time as a couple who had received an email so got my key which thankfully had been left in the lock box. The room was comfortable enough, clean and quiet, but a bit tired with worn carpets and drapes. Worth the price really. Nice to have an espresso made fresh with the continental breakfast. The morning reception staff were nice in helping me try to trace my lost baggage but then the afternoon staff did not alert me to its eventual arrival as promised. Reasonable location, 10-15min walk to shops and waterfront.

The Macquarie Manor Hotel was such a gem. It was built in 1875 and there are lots of interesting decoration touches that make the hallways and rooms very unique. The check in staff were all lovely and accommodating. And you get free Continental breakfast! Will definitely be back.
